New Members: Introduce Yourself!

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I have ran into this website several times at work, and just came across it today while looking for old arcade games, so decided I should join!

My name is Alexis (my friends usually call me Lexi), I am 26 y.o. In my spare time I do indie game dev on projects that are way too ambitious. I am also addicted to dota and ffxiv ^_^.

I've always been interested in retro games, but haven't had as much time as I'd like to play them. I honestly haven't played/beaten even most of the classics... I also definitely don't have the money or space to collect actual copies of the games.

Anyway, yea... hi!

Hey welcome aboard. It is a pleasure to have you here on the site! As for classics you haven't beaten, which ones are on your bucket list of games that you must beat?

Hi everyone. I just found this site while Googling for video game and emulation stuff, and decided to join.
(Very) long story short, I've been playing and enjoying video games since the late 70s, and have fairly recently become aware of emulation. I've got a few PSPs (some ready and loaded) and maybe ten DS Lites. I've been almost exclusively handheld for years, but my wife and I collect (horde?) for various consoles, as well.

True story: I followed the IRC Chat link at the top of the site looking for some help, and ended up in 'GayChat', lol. Whoops! Ah well, I never claimed to be Mr. tech adept!

Thanks for having me, take care!

Hi, Lou!

Welcome to RacketBoy, thanks for chatting with me.

It's too bad you're not a fan of Fight Club, though. Now I can't tell you that you don't know where I've been, Lou. :(

Haha, thanks man. And no need for thanks -- Thank you for the helpful info!

Eh, it's alright. I certainly don't think it's the 'social phenomenon' that some make it out to be, heh, but it's a solid film.
The interpersonal twist plot device had been done before, at least as far back as The Twilight Zone, but they carried it off decently enough. ;)
I'll say this in the film's favor, as well: As someone that has (unfortunately, daily regrets) been involved in physical aggression with too many people, I feel that several of the fight scenes were choreographed quite well and depicted fairly realistic scenarios.

Don't shatter my illusions, Lou!

The Twilight Zone already did everything before 1960, everyone should just give up. :P

We should all bow to Mr. Serling, Buck, and all the writers. ;)

Hey, if you can get through 'One For the Angels' and not lose your shit at the ending monologue, you are a better man than I!

"Louis J. Bookman, age 60ish, occupation: pitchman....Formerly, a fixture of the summer....Formerly, a rather mild component to a hot July.....But throughout his life, a man beloved by the children, and therefor, a most important man."
(Gets me every damned time.)

Thanks, Noiseredux.
