I agree to an extent. Obscure can be fun but overly obscure makes it less likely more people will join in on the fun and then you have the same few people taking over the topic,excluding many others.

I personally kind of like learning about these obscure games. Although, I might not be the norm since I also find a lot of obscure stuff to be fun haha.
