The weekend was a washout so I wasn't able to do much. But today my travels enabled me to make *21* more Pokéstops! I recently found out that if you visit 10 different Pokéstop locations, the 10th stop gives you more items. It's true, I got 6 items on the 10th unique stop. Just don't re-visit any you've already been to!

I also found out why I got my Flareon back last week from a gym with no damage. It turns out the gym wasn't defeated, it was deleted! Check your area out on http://www.pokemongomap.info/ and see if any stops or gyms have been deleted; apparently the news last week that Niantic was deleting certain areas due to private property/complaints is true. The total on the site went from around 3.5 million locations to now around 3.3 million. With the exception of the gym and a few churches here, I didn't lose too much.

2 Pokémon are currently in gyms now!

I've added a few newbies to my roster which is nice, though my mind escapes me on names other than Jolteon and a Vulpix.

Updated! Version 0.33.0 (Android) & 1.3.0 (iOS)

Changes:
-Added a dialog to remind Trainers that they should not play while traveling above a certain speed. Trainers must confirm they are not driving in order to continue playing.
-Made improvements to the accuracy of a curveball throw.
-Fixed a bug that prevented ”Nice,” ”Great,” and “Excellent” Poké Ball throws from awarding the appropriate XP bonuses.
-Fixed achievements showing incorrect Medal icons.
-Enabled the ability for Trainers to change their nickname one time. Please choose your new nickname wisely.
-Resolved issues with the battery saver mode on iOS and re-enabled the feature.
-Added visuals of Team Leaders Candela, Blanche, and Spark.
-We’re currently testing a variation of the “Nearby Pokémon” feature with a subset of users. During this period you may see some variation in the nearby Pokémon UI.
-Minor text fixes

So the XP bonuses for capturing are back as well as an improvement to the tracker. I hear it's working somewhat better and will update itself frequently and it won't require an app restart to refresh, and it also does a better job of actually finding Pokémon near you. It's something!

Solid update, just ran it and now firing up the game as it has me curious. The optional? near by seems to work for me. Says Sightings now, and shows a picture of grass and a teeny pokemon inside it lower right. Not sure how this tells me they're closer or not unless they grow. Not going to go outside and get ravaged by bugs to find out. ;)

Apparently it will also show pokemon and an image of the pokestop they are located at. That will be nice.

Yes, there have been images surfacing of a second part to the nearby/sightings where a Pokémon appears with a picture of a nearby Pokéstop next to it, indicating that it is there. Touching any one of those will show you a map of the location and if it isn't there, you'll get a message that it fleed.

More information here. It is being rolled out slowly to certain devices, not limited to any area at this point. I think all of us will be getting it eventually.

Wow go Niantic, that is something excellent they did there with the pokestop addition. I'd like to see where they take the grassy/pokemon near by part bit still.

This video shows the new tracker and what it will do. That's really useful.

New medal today!

Crazy the amount of time I spent on this game. That wasn't all walking, but still...

My Vaporeon is still holding a gym for a decent amount of time. It's been about 50 hours.

Three more days of fast re-supply then I'm checking out some new areas for stops and gyms, and hopefully some *new* Pokemon I've been hearing about at some of these locations. I still have a ways to go to get to Level 22.
