I want more Kirby and F-Zero, More Kirby is a lock but Old man Miyamoto doesn't want to make another F-Zero so NOBODY WILL.

Nintendo has such a rich and deep IP Catalog they need to dip into it and create new experences with them they can try to repair 3rd party relationships but it won't yeild satisfactory results. Nintendo should open their doors and IPs to Indie Devs to solve that 3rd Party problem what up and comming Indy dev wouldn't love to make a Nintendo game they grew up with fully endorsed by Nintendo?

So that's my take Nintendo needs to get with the times but they also need to get out of this creative bankruptcy. I may not consider getting a Wii U now but there is room in my set up for a Wii and there are a few games in that backlog I want to check out but if Nintendo plays their cards right, I may just pick up a Wii U but only if they do what I just said.

Nintendo is opening their IPS to 3rd party developers, F-zero does not sell well (although it is a great game) and in this generation alone we received new IPs in Wonderful 101 (great game, sold horrible) and are releasing X and worked with old IPs like Pikmin 3 and Game and Wario. It is also releasing a new Smash Bros, new Donkey Kong Country, New Mario Kart all within this year, not to mention the plethora of other games they are working on with the 3DS. That is a LOT of software for the year that Nintendo is responsible for.

I feel that Nintendo being a great game developer is what shoots themselves in the foot. We all know that the biggest competitor any 3rd party developer has when developing for a Nintendo console and that is Nintendo. Ports sell the least, new IPs have a hard time selling on the system regardless of overall quality, it is almost assured doomed.

Why is that?

Is it because people buy Nintendo consoles to play Nintendo games only, is it because Nintendo is the primary competitor, is it because developers have a hard time developing for a dual screened system, or is it the stigma that people have towards Nintendo as being a kids system? People tend to vote with their wallet on what they want to see on a system and from the looks of it, people do not want to see anything but Nintendo on a Nintendo system.

How can we gauge how F-Zero Sells when there hasn't been a New F-Zero in close to a Decade? It doesn't sell well is a weak argument especially when there is a huge out cry for a new one. The Wii U and Gamecube are selling/sold in pretty low numbers so games not selling well on those platforms is not something to guage a game's popularity off since even a small percent of the low install base is a substantial one. Although NOBODY bought Mario 3d land but the most hardcore Nintendo fan.

I know 3rd parties are free to use nintendo properties Hyrule warriors is going to be great and if I do cave and get a Wii U i'm all over that. But I'm talking about smaller indie devs. Get some new blood working on Nintendo's classics.

I don't think it's Nintendo is Kiddie that's the problem, Nintendo makes a very specific flavor of game that's something the whole family can enjoy. I really think Nintendo's main problem is ignoring what it's fans want. They screamed for Region Free Consoles, they laughed at us. For 10 years fans demanded Mother 3 and Iwata and Friends covered their ears and went LALALALALALALALALALALALALALA. Nintendo's attitude towards it's fans is You will shovel our shit eat and it an LOVE IT. And I've said it before, Bayonetta 2 isn't enough to get me to buy a Wii U. Showing you care about your fans and what they want when so many other companies either don't care or just have no clue coughsegacoughcapcomcough what it's fan base wants would be a big plus.

Has anyone tried Steel Diver Sub Wars? Give that a shot if you're wondering if Nintendo can bring a new experience to the market. I've lost pretty much the last 12 hours because of that game's online mode.

Sadly, I am betting it will get overlooked since it's Eshop only. Fun fact: it possibly takes place in the Star Fox universe.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I've only had the opportunity to play the tutorial thus far. How much single-player content does the free version offer?

Not a whole lot. Two mission areas with three missions each. The full game is only $10 though and it's got a LOT of stuff to do.

F-zero GP Legend (GBA) - 160,000
F-zero GX (GCN) - 650,000

Super Mario 3D World (WiiU) - 1.77 Million (realize it has only been out for a few months now)
Super Mario 3D land (3DS) - 9.28 million
Super Mario Sunshine (GCN) - 6.3 Million

(source VGChartz)

Here are your comparison. The worst mario game (Sunshine) had more than 9 times the sales than the best F-zero game.

People want F-zero? Some people might, but their wallets say differently. Personal desire does not make it true. Being the loudest does not make it true. People can make the argument for Zelda and maybe even Metroid (even though it does not make as much money as Mario or Zelda), but do you not think Nintendo is trying to make those right now behind closed doors?

And do you realize that Nintendo's fan base does not solely involve you? there is a world of people who are not you and do not want what you want. There are people that want Wii Fit, Wii Party and first party titles that do not cater to your desires in any way, but they are being provided by Nintendo.

Just take a deep breath, everything is going to be ok.

While many on here care about region free consoles, I dont think the average gamer imports. They will satisfy a small % by making a region free console.

and Nintendo Marketed GP Legend how? I didn't even know it existed until I saw it on Amazon.

THat's another thing Nintendo won't Market anything that isn't Mario or Zelda.

I also take VG CHartz with a grain of salt as they've shown bias in their numbers.

as for Imports, the Import Market is growing I know quite a few people who import and for PS3 collectors importing from Europe is the only way to get english Disc copies of some games.

Speaking of exclusive imports from EU, does anyone have any recommendations for RPGs, horror-themed games, platformers, or any other quirky, weird games that we in NA didn't end up getting for the PS3?

I was about to throw this in the what made you ticked off today thread but since it was towards Nintendo I thought i can write on this thread.
I have a club Nintendo membership and once a month I go online and try to use my points to get a free download. They are putting out Mario rpg(snes) and punch out(nes). I'd figure i would get punch out and i bought the game and used 200 coins. After i quickly bought it i found out it only was for wiiu and not the wii but the last time i did that it worked and i got the download. So I called Nintendo and told them what happened.
They got all my info and put me on hold for a few minutes. The rep said sorry it was only for wii u and not the wii. I said ok well i don't own the wii u so can i get my points back? He told me absolutely not. I asked him that i made the mistake and i asked again and told him that i don't want to lose my points and i don't have a wii u. He replied no you should of looked better. Then i asked him well can you give me the code to punch out for the wii? He actually got a little mad and told me look we cant just give you games for your mistakes no way were not giving you free games.
Now if the rep was nice about it and not being such a dick then fine i messed up but I have to say the customer service was total shit to me. How can you say we cant do anything for you? I'm a manager in a large retail store if that was the case we would gave the customer a refund or the actual game he needed.
My point of the story was that I also think and I've heard many times that Nintendo doesn't care for the customer anymore. It's all about money. A lot of cases its true but damn man if it wasn't for us you guys would be out of business or working for sega lol. I feel with my experience with Nintendo now there no longer care for the customer anymore and that is also going to hurt them. If anyone who has a wii u I will be more than happy to give them the code to get punch out for free. Just pm me on that.
