I bought a

Hope that will do the business, otherwise I'll survive with headphones.

Is it true that only US and European games suffer from the non-VGA compatible sh*t? I've read that somewhere, and if it's indeed true that all NTSC-J region games will work, then it doesn't matter. My DC is NTSC-J and so are all my games.

If it's infact not true, then I'll just play those non-VGA compatible games on my CRT with the RGB cable. Can't be bothered to buy yet another cable!

Cable will work, plugged into stereo RCA audio inputs of your HD where its matched with the VGA input. Not sure which games, I believe roughly about a third of dreamcast games don't support VGA. The two additional 2 RCA Female to 1 RCA Male splitters I posted earlier in addition one S-Video cable or less desirable a Composite cable do not cost that much, you can use the spare RCAs from Nintendo purchased earlier. Your advantage and convenient since you already have the good VGA box with VGA bypass S-Video/Composite setup.

EDIT
Actually depending on your brand box the S-Video may have its own RCA outs for audio, you already have the spare RCA cables.

I don't have the "clear box" VGA box. It's the black one, so it's VGA only.

I guess I'll count heads after I've bought the DC games I intend to buy (25 or so), to see which ones that don't support VGA. Hopefully it's only the shmups, which I would play on my CRT with RGB anyway. My 24" only have a SCART input.

If there are alot of games I'd rather play on my 32", but don't support VGA, I'll guess I'll look into S-Video.

Thanks alot for all your help! Much appreciated.

Nope, it's not true. Vampire Chronicle for Matching Service is the first one that comes to mind that doesn't support VGA, I'm sure there are plenty others too.

It'll run in VGA if you patch the disc image. You have to download and apply a specific patch as oppose to the normal method of patching manually with a hex editor.

NTSC-J list looks very incomplete. Anyway, here are the games I've already bought/going to buy:

Virtual-On Oratorio Tangram (VGA, confirmed, bought)
De La Jet Set Radio (VGA, confirmed, bought)
White Illumination (bought)
Street Fighter 3/W Impact (bought)
Street Fighter III 3rd Strike
The Last Blade 2 (bought)
Chu Chu Rocket (bought)
Garou: Mark of the Wolves (bought)
Guilty Gear X (bought)
Doki Doki Idol Star Seeker Remix (bought)
Twinkle Star Sprites (bought)
The Typing of the Dead (lightguns don't work on LCD, so will be played on CRT with RGB anyway, bought)
Soul Calibur (bought)
Rez (bought)
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (bought)
House of the Dead (lightguns don't work on LCD, so will be played on CRT with RGB anyway, bought)
Elemental Gimmick Gear (bought)
Super Hero Retsuden (bought)
Sonic Adventure (bought)
Sonic Adventure 2
The Lost Golem (bought)
Space Channel 5
Samba de Amigo ver. 2000
Space Channel 5: Part 2
Cosmic Smash
Under Defeat
Shikigami no Shiro II
Moero Justice Gakuen
Crazy Taxi
Border Down
Virtua Cop 2 (lightguns don't work on LCD, so will be played on CRT with RGB anyway)
Maken X
Choukousenki Kikaioh
Cool Cool Toon
Berserk
Illbleed
Mars Matrix
Gunbird 2
Zero Gunner 2
Heavy Metal Geomatrix
US Shenmue (why couldn't they release this with Japanese voices like PAL did with Shenmue 2?)

Well, I most likely won't buy all of them, I'm no Donald Trump.

The games listed as bought are still under way to me, with the exception of Virtual-On and De La Jet Set Radio. Obviously I haven't tested these "bought" games with VGA yet.

Anyway, does anyone have any experience with these games and their VGA-compatibilityness (not even a real word, I know)?

I have a Naki VGA box for the Dreamcast and was wondering if there was anyway to use it to display VGA on my laptop's monitor? My laptop does have a VGA port but I don't think it supports input. I read somewhere that a video capture card could be used? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

The capture card will only be S-Video/Composite going through your laptop USB port. PC processing image resulting in choppy video. Better to use S-Video inputs of a portable LCD-DVD player or a dedicated portable LCD.

Is there a preferred type of male to male VGA cable for connecting the box to my monitor? I've seen prices ranging from $25 in stores to $1 online. This makes me wonder if there is more I need to know.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
