I do like they they merged some of the skills together and took out some of the bullshit. ie: leveling up endurance would affect overall health... now we can just level up health. The one thing that pissed me off though was the removal of Acrobatics, that was totally my most used skill. I'd get it to 100 so fast and instead of running/walking places, I'd jump places. In Morrowind, I had it over 100 (constant effect spells) and could literally get from one town to another in one jump.

It is more like Mass Effect in this edition. You get a persuade or intimidate option for certain pieces of dialog. In Morrowind and Oblivion you used speechcraft to try and raise a character's disposition, which would effect their buying and selling prices (overlapping with mercantile) and some NPCs wouldn't talk to you about a particular topic unless they liked you well enough. In Morrowind it was just a straight roll when you picked an option, so you eventually could get them to the best disposition with a lot of clicking. In Oblivion it was a one time thing with a silly minigame. In Morrowind you could also eventually get someone to attack you, which meant that the guards would attack him for assault. So you could eventually murder an entire town by pissing everyone off in it and get away scott free.

Yet another gamer's view on Skyrim:

I just finished the main-questline and the Imperial Legion quests. I'm absolutely loving the game. So much to do and such a large game, with so much attention to detail; just like Oblivion and Morrowind. And great looking graphics. This one seems to have a definite Viking feel to everything, rather than it being spread across the board like in Oblivion. And a lot more combat-oriented missions rather than mostly fetch-quests. The Shouts are a great ability added to the game, but at the same time we lost stats. No more Strength, Agility, Wisdom, etc. Just skills like Destruction, Block, and Speech. So a lot of the class-based and item/spell-buffs from the earlier games are neutered.

My character is already awesome. I'm a Nord, I'm level 33, I have a full set of Daedric armor & sword plus the Dragonslayer sword (whatever it was called), and I have unlocked over 20 Shouts.

But dang is this a glitch-fest of a game. I know Oblivion and Morrowind had their fair share of glitches, but the amount of them in Skyrim is insane. So far nothing that is game-breaking, but some seriously weird stuff:

-I once saw a wooly mammoth floating straight up into the air. And the funny part is that the thing looked completely relaxed while it was happening.

-I bought a house and went to bed one time. When my character awakes (in other words after the load screen), all the furniture in my house is gone. But all the items that were on the furniture were still there and just all over the floor. I left the house, then came back in and all the furniture was back. But all the stuff was still on the floor. It's stayed that way ever since.

-In a certain town (Whiterun) there's this guy that follows me around everywhere with his sword drawn, like he's my ally running into battle. But he never actually attacks me or anyone else. Unfortunately I can't talk to him, and he's one of the characters in the game that you can't actually kill, either. It's pretty annoying, but at least it only happens in Whiterun. Unfortunately, that's where my house is that I bought.

-After a huge battle (there's a civil war going on in the game, and you get to pick sides), I have to report to my C.O. After talking to him, all the sudden I'm in the sky, and falling to my death. That one really POed me.

Anyone else with weird glitches like this? And what are your thoughts on the game?

I have not experienced any such issues as of yet. Sounds frustrating and/or amusing. :D

Playing on the 360, something happened to my house in Whiterun as well. I wonder if one of the elemental weapons I put on the weapon rack had anything to do with it ... lol. Everytime I enter the house it makes some electrical sound. But yeah basically it looked like a tornado blasted through the house and everything was all over the floor, and my bookshelf was totally messed up. Luckily I clicked on the bookshelf though and backed out and it automatically fixed it, but I had to pull a few plates/bowls out of it.

Very annoying. Luckily all my stuff stored away in dressers or whatever were safe though.

Well, finished the main quest, civil war, and all the faction quests, as well as all the daedric quests and a few of the notable side quests. I'm gonna call it complete and hang it up for a while and play something else.

Btw, the critical hit animation for the Ebony Blade is awesome. You run the target through with the sword and lift them up into the air. The game was even nice enough to use it on my target of the last Dark Brotherhood quest.

I'm pretty sure that has to do with your One-Handed or Two-Handed skill. Because I do it on like all my swords and I'm at skill level 88 on my one-handed.

Yeah, that's pretty much where I'm at. I want to devote more time to Skyward Sword now....and Sonic Generations.....and Rayman Origins. Doh!

I have over 60 hours and have only finished the Thieves Guild... I'm halfway done the mainquest and I did one dark brotherhood quest. didnt start anything else yet. But finishing the thieves guild completely (restoring to former glory achievement) took a super long time and was a huge grind.

I'll consider myself done when I have completed the mainquest, every faction, and every major side quest. And of course when I have all the achievements.
