That was quick, you recertified your Retro Gaming Badge!
The Japanese version adds to the game atmosphere and only $3.00 at BookOff!

The Adventures of Cookie & Cream (PS2, DS)
http://chic-pixel.com/2015/02/february-2015-is-from-software-month/
Cookie & Cream might be the oddest game in From Software’s library, simply because it’s so different from their other titles. The multiplayer action/adventure titles features two adorable rabbits that can be controlled separately by two players using the same controller if so desired. Not only that, but the Japanese box art is brilliant! Don’t you agree?
If you don’t have a PS2 on hand, there is a port available on the DS, as well as a downloadable version on PSN for PS3. Even if you don’t have a friend to rope into playing with you, you can still play both Cookie and Cream in the single player story mode, so there’s no reason not to try this one out!
Bookoff now selling older games not moving for a flat rate of three bucks.
PS2 Everblue (CapKore / Japan Import) - $3.00 BookOff
Based on the other Thread review, finally bought this which had been on the shelf for months. I picked up the Japanese CapKore (Greatest Hits?) version, maybe extra stuff in the game?

2600 Marine Wars (Konami) - $3.00
A very early Konami game, interesting did not know this existed. The Cart with a complete label (mine has this) fetch at least $40 due to the Konami name.

A Japanese software company, Konami was established in the arcade arena and got its start in the home business with the Atari 2600. Unfortunately, they had already licensed some of their best titles to other companies for home production, so they were limited to some less known ports such as Pooyan and Marine Wars.
2600 Firefly (Mythicon) - $3.00 BookOff
Another obscure game cart, this time from an obscure company. They only made 3 games for the 2600.

Bought both 2600 carts for the obscurity and from a history collection standpoint. The "shovelware" happens today on modern consoles, many games looking so similiar.

Mythicon (Scarce+) entered the market with three games at the incredibly low price of $9.95 each, hoping to capture the low-end of the market. However, it quickly became apparent that their games were so bad that they weren't even worth that low price. All three games were essentially the same with some minor changes.
Fire Fly
Sorcerer
Star Fox
Tactics such as these along with very poor quality contributed to retailer and consumer distrust of videogames that led to the crash.
This game is no YARS REVENGE!

The 10 Worst Atari 2600 Games (E.T. Is Not One of Them, Duh)
http://www.deafsparrow.com/2014/03/21/top-10-worst-atari-2600-games/
1. Fire Fly
Here it is, my friends. If you don’t agree with this pick, seriously, play it. Find it, learn about it, and then play it. Fire Fly is easily the worst game for the 2600 and probably the worst game in the world. Mythicon and what it represents is one of the reasons for the video game crash, and when you see Fire Fly you’ll understand. They came in trying to be the ‘low end’ guys by selling games at the price of $9.95, which apparently worked at first, but then people realized what they were doing. The issue was all three of their titles are essentially the same code, just altered slightly to make “different” games. However, Sorcerer actually has a little going for it. Fire Fly, holy living, breathing Hell. First off, get a load of the story they put behind this one, that link takes you to a huge bunch of text that’s seriously from the manual. Makes it sound cool, doesn’t it? Just look at this horrible box, look at the video linked. Honestly, how did anyone think this could possibly be published? The “music” is irritating, there are no sound effects, your character is easily the most indistinct sprite in history, and the gameplay is non-existent. Each screen brings a new enemy that the manual tries desperately to explain, but nothing actually means anything. This is one of those things that leaves you utterly dumbfounded. You figure I’d have something clever to say, some sort of silly metaphor to explain it, but you don’t need any of that. Fire Fly is its own metaphor, it’s its own definition, it’s own explanation. What’s Fire Fly like? Just answer Fire Fly to that and you understand everything. Bad day? This day really Fire Flies. This game stands for everything wrong. It’s even beyond the worst evil you could imagine. This is stuff that’s going to be banned in Germany for at least another two-hundred years. Best part? Look at the upper left corner of the box. What does it say? This is the first frikken game?! They planned more in a series, further Fire Fly titles, at least in theory?! Someone find them and put and end to the madness, go back in time even!
Gamecube Sonic Mega Collection - $3.00 Desert Industries
Another lucky three dollar find! I have the PS2 version already with its additional games, could not pass up on this CIB at a Thrift Store.

Sega Genesis Sonic 2 - Cart Only - $2.99
I knew Gamestop stores have been carrying retro carts locally and now have decent price drops. All the old carts fall under the used game seven day refund even if not defective. I did not know I had this (well it is in the compilation above), but was under three bucks! Evertime I see this cart, the label looks like a bootleg! Okay I remember, I do have this, need Sonic 1 and 3. Ah well, an easy refund on the next visit. Hopes up for discovering other pristine carts on the cheap at other locations.

SNES Tetris 2 - $4.99 Gamestop
Plays like Tetris mixed with Dr Mario, an interesting take on the dropping blocks game.

Extron Lancia Line Doubler - $4.00 Recycle Center

My weird and cool electrics find of the day from the Recycle Center. Looking at the metal case, I suspected what this was and bought it. After going home and researching, an upscaler for just a few bucks!
Since I already use SD and HD CRTs, this might come in handy for the VGA conversion mode on my PC CRT monitors.

Lancia xi High-Resolution Video Scan Line Double
http://www.extron.com/product/printable.aspx?id=lanciaxi
Extron’s Lancia xi is a high resolution, digital video line doubler which
converts interlaced video into non-interlaced video. The line doubler converts the two-field frame into a single 525 line non-interlaced frame pro-ducing a brighter, higher resolution picture. The additional lines provide
more light output and make the overall image brighter.
Line doubler– Doubles the resolution of standard video from 525
interlaced lines at 15 kHz to 525 non-interlaced lines at 31.5 kHz for a
clearer, brighter output.
VGA mode– Conveniently converts video signals to 480 lines of non-interlaced VGA. This VGA output allows you to plug directly into dig-ital display devices for RGBHV signal transmission.
There are so much commercial stuff at the Recycle Center easily spotted by the BNC connectors in the back. I picked up two PVMs there as well in the last few months, just ordered 10 RCA to BNC plugs due to so many components piling up.
