I got some imports today. With the cost of shipping it worked out to about $20 a game. I'm looking forward to the Taito games the most. How can you go wrong with a game called Space Gun?

I also can't help but laugh at the Prince of Persia cover art. Our prince is most decidedly not from Persia. I guess it gives precedence to the Jake Gyllenhaal movie?

Master of Darkness is legit, even if a "clone" of Castlevania.

I've had most of those when I had a SMS before. You're right about a Castlevania clone, but who cares when it's a solid good game. It's on my GG to get soon short list.

I like to pretend that Soul of Darkness - another Castlevania knock-off - is its sequel.

EDIT: The linked review is more than a bit effusive. Soul of Darkness is OK, and I enjoyed my time with it. It really doesn't touch legitimate "metroidvania" games, however.

Thanks! I only played them a little last night after disassembling and cleaning the carts. I might actually have to read the manual on Dragon Crystal. I had no idea what I was doing and got stomped almost immediately.

I found out how. The light gun can screw up the colors on your failing PVM even further. I guess I need to make that repair a higher priority.

That can happen. It's a roguelike so it's entirely possible to die within seconds or have a game that goes nearly an hour...before you die.

I'll beat this damn thing one day!

I was so happy since I don't usually post finds I popped it into the smile thread, but for $500 + Dragon Warrior IV+guide book I got a cherry SNK manufactured 2 slot MVS cabinet with 9 legit cartridges and a 10th being the 161in1 multicart which is insane. Sold my Gold Ball I lost interest in to cover the damage and come out ahead as well. Probably end up using that added to buy a few carts for the cabinet not on the multi-cart or deal package. It's a low use machine too with 12.2k~ quarters through the mech.

I'm not going to blow the images out twice, no point, see the smile/anger thread for Sunday.

The 9 games were Aerofighters 2 and 3, Baseball Stars, Bust-A-Move, King of the Monsters, Metal Slug 1 and 2, Samurai Shodown II, and The King of Fighters 98. BAM and SS2 had some of their mini marquees and art cards (ss2 also has moves sticker) in a mix of english and spanish.

I kind of just leave Dragon Crystal as something to enjoy a few times but also as a game with no end. I'm sure there probably is one, but given you die so easy and there's no save game method to it at all it's just enjoyable as a bite sized pick me up dungeon crawler.
