Unreal. Not 24 hours after I find a copy of Hotel Mario for a relatively cheap $40, a listing turns up for 15 CD-i games for $120, INCLUDING Link: The Faces of Evil. I hear Voyeur's a riot, too. So frickin' stoked!

OK this is officially the LAST TIME I will go into a NY Goodwill expecting to ever find a reasonable deal on a video game. Now I know it is for charity (well some of it anyway?), and I'm happy to pay around Ebay prices if I find something I want, but for the most part everything I see at these Thrift stores are marked 2x or higher than sealed Ebay prices! I thought the point of these places was to get a good deal and contribute to a good cause? See image link below for some of the funny "finds" of today:

Is your town going through gentrification?

That looks like rich people prices! Or prices meant to attract said rich people.

Keep trying and find other thrift stores or look for those craigslist/facebook deals.

Nice one on Link, it gets shat on a bit but if you understand the system limitations and how the game functions it's actually fairly decent, but no it's not excellent or great by any means. And yes Voyeur can be funny and just messed up.

I had a CDI in the day I could point out some damn fine games on that thing to you. if you want a final fight/sor like clone look up Mutant Rampage Bodyslam as it's fun. Stuff like Chaos Control work out great as a rails shooter. Lords of the Rising Sun probably is the best version of that game made, even has some solid FMV that isn't laughably awful or out of place.

Yeah, the art style and return to Zelda 2-style sidescrolling are really appealing to me, actually!

I've owned a CDi and Mutant Rampage for several years, but mine's a model 910 and I can't figure out how to get the required Digital Video Cart inside, let alone how to change the internal save battery... but hopefully I'll be able to work it out.

Went to my old stomping grounds up in Norcal this week. Went to old places and some new ones. Some thrift stores weren’t like they used to be. The three goodwills that I went to were on the sucky side. The ones down in Arizona are much better. These things were bought over the last two days. So its all a bit jumbled together. But I had fun getting them and hunting back in my old haunts… I went to a nice little thrift store up in Stockton CA. The goodwill up there was a bust. Not enough gaming stuff worth my while. I found another little shop not far from there. Although I didn’t get much. Lots of decent clothes and some cheap, good, clean appliances. But gamewise I got two xbox games: Amped and NHL hitz 2002 both $0.50 cents each. Whatever. The next day I was in Modesto my old hometown and there I had the chance to find more stuffs. Hit up some more thriftstores and an FYE! Its been a while since I’ve been there. At fye I got some anime B2 get 1 half off. I had forgotten how expensive that store was! But I scrounged around and got some volumes of Trinity blood at $5.00 each and Ikki Tousen complete for $12.99. Two of them went cheaper. Okay I guess. I’m almost done with Trinity blood. I think I got a few more volumes to go. At another thrift store Called Buy-rite I got some more games too. Their prices were up an down and all over the place. They had retrogames at expensive prices behind glass. And other more modern games too. Their prices were fair, I guess. Ghost Rider for PSP $3.99, Jammit Genesis for $2.99, Rallisport challenge xbox for $2.99 and Sonic Riders PS2 $4.99. I have sonic riders already but just disc only. And now I have it boxed now. The last place I went to was a Salvation army store. This one didn’t let me down….Too much. They had a half off day! I bought a lot of nice clothes and some more plastic discs we all love. At that Salvation army, they had a flat rate of $5.00 for any videogame. And then it had the 50% off. They had a bunch of sports games and I was tempted to take a few of them, but I left them behind and other more common ps2 games. But I took home some stuff. Another copy of rallisport (doh!), some generic Wii racer, Fifa for Gamecube and MX unleashed for PS2. So they were $2.50 each. Now here’s the thing that got me a little mad. Well, I shouldn’t be mad but the SA clerk messed up. I got some anime and godzilla DVDS thrown into the pile. DVDs were marked at $2.00 each. But the clerk rang them up just like videogames! I was a little pouty because of that. I already rang up a bunch of clothes because they were a dollar each. So I was happy to have some decent used clothes. But as I checked my haul at the place I was staying, The movies were charged just like games! So I got those dvds at $2.50 each. Damn. I wasn’t going to drive half way across town to fight it and I had the leave the next day back home. But I figured it was like a donation to the place. I cant get it (lucky) cheap all the time.

Now here are my gamestop finds from Modesto. Three stores in two days. There was still three more farther out, but I had no more time to get to them. I mixed them up already and I’d rather not bore you with what came from where. I picked up some pretty common games and some others less than common. But some of these sub $10 titles here I have had no luck in finding them complete. They may not be worth much now, but give them a few years and good luck trying to get them complete. Also I renewed my gamestop rewards recently and they gave me a b2g1 free coupon. In that deal I got Those two vita RPGs and that Atelier game for PS3. With Dungeon travelers and Atelier being the most expensive, Persona 4 became free. I’m also happy with finding those xbox 360 games too. It’s always nice to get some metal cases. Plus I’ve never seen that Guilty gear game before! I also wanted to get Agarest War for ps3, (I have zero and two on it) but I guess I have to make do for now on 360. Also I cant believe I’ve not picked up Resident Evil 4 for wii! But it’s mine now!

No Wednesday flea market for me today. I go into work later in the afternoon and I didn’t want to make two trips into town today. This is what I bought yesterday on Tuesday at my other flea market. Halo and Mortal Kombat xbox $6.00. Mushroom Men wii (new in wrapper) $4.00. DC comics DVD $2.00. And from one seller all for $10 a psp charging cord, n64 gameboy adaptor, atari 2600 soccer game, Sega saturn golf game, batman returns and final fight for Sega cd. Final fight is kinda scratched up. I hope it’s fixable.

Nice Sega CD pickups. Two of the better titles for the console IMO. Final Fight CD def the best console version of the game and the driving sections in Batman are killer.
