Thanks guys. It really is an amazing job. Actually, Racket deserves some of the credit for me getting it too. A requirement for the position was that I have writing experience involving various media not normally associated with librarianship, and that we be able to provide samples. I interviewed and sent in several originals of articles I had written for Racketboy as examples of my work, and they hired me because of my ability to conduct both qualitative and technical analysis of a heavily visual medium and synthesize that analysis into a format that people enjoy.
Or as I like to think, I wrote an article on PS2 games and got a profession because of it.

How can someone own so many beautiful watches, but still use Comic Sans?

I'm not sure how to address this. I'm an obsessive phone-checker and my car's clock is never right, so I need a watch. By affixing the time to my wrist, it becomes a fashion statement (much like bending over to squint at my phone's display) and as such I want a piece that's as much a work of art as it is a tool of convenience. Analog clocks are both beautiful aesthetically and as a feat of engineering (at least to me) and I'd be interested to hear your arguments against them. Do you own a watch?Ivo wrote: To be honest I never understood why so many people still use analog watches

Watches are cool.
I own both analog and digital watches. The Bulova analog is on my wrist 90% of the time, I only wear the Nike digital to time my runs.
Analog watches just look a lot classier. I think a digital watch would clash with most of my clothes (especially my work clothes as I wear a dress shirt/tie five days a week). Plus, my analog watch matches my wedding ring.
I'm one of those people who must have a watch on. I feel "naked" without one and I hate not knowing the time.

I use to wear a watch all the time, but I eventually stopped wearing one in favor of a cell phone. The past year or two I've considered wearing a watch again, some times it's annoying to take the cell out of the pocket to check the time. But alas, I have skinny wrist. I'm limited to the watches I can wear that wont look stupid on me.

d00d just have some links taken out when you buy a watch. Takes them like 5 seconds to do it. That's what I have to do.Ziggy587 wrote:I use to wear a watch all the time, but I eventually stopped wearing one in favor of a cell phone.
