"Everyone does it" is not really much of a defense, is it? :/Fragems wrote:Really if you get picky pretty much every religion has some form of punishment for none believers and many are quite extreme. All I'm saying is pretty much all religions have the potential to be used as an excuse for violence and many have had great atrocities committed in their names at various times throughout history.Erik_Twice wrote:"Everyone does it" is not really much of a defense, is it? :/Fragems wrote:Really if you get picky pretty much every religion has some form of punishment for none believers and many are quite extreme. I mean, we are talking about tying their bloodied bodies to a stick for days until they die, being against that is not "being picky", it's common sense, c'mon :/
I don't know, I don't think I'm being at all unreasonable here.

I agree with this, but at the same don't see any point in further military intervention in the mideast, and that muslims themselves must reach a consensus how to coexist with the rest of the world. People in places like Malaysia and Indonesia who are muslims in their own regions with their own set of codes of tolerance and local problems and histories etc can't be equated with others living in hotspots like Syria and Iraq which breed and attract extremists as reactionary and proactive byproducts of strife.marurun wrote:Let's keep in mind that we practice tolerance on these boards, and whether or not we have any practicing Muslims among our members, we should not bad-mouth any particular group of people, and not hold the actions of miscreants against an entire religion.
