All the upper branches seem to have webs or dust on them. Must be the lighting then, wasn't trying to give a hard time. It's a nice tree. I should post a pic of ours - finally trimmed it down so it isn't quite so massive.

I went downstairs for a double check, and the lighting of the picture is the issue (although I did notice a nasty cobweb near my mantle).mjmjr25 wrote:All the upper branches seem to have webs or dust on them. Really wanted to buy my tree from the local Boy Scouts den, but they were asking nearly double what Lowe's Home Improvement was charging.
As you can tell, when it comes to decorating a tree I like it to look like Christmas threw up on it. Nothing wrong with an ornate tree, but I like mine cluttered with family ornaments and a few lights. Feels more "homey".
Remember those spinning tree stands? I had a friend in highschool who had one of those, and I kid you not some of my school pals would get stoned and watch the Christmas tree spin for hours on end. Those are the friends I've lost touch with.

Duder. I weighed it down today with five pounds of steel, and it still makes the silver bullet seem like a slug. Something has to be wrong with my transformer, but at eighty clams a pop, I'll continue to weigh it down until I can find more track.samsonlonghair wrote:Damn Luke, that is a fast train.

It was quite a surprise. 2 Cohibas and an Arturo fuente.aaron wrote:oh man. nice. color me jealous.
My pal who bought them for me isn't a cigar aficionado by any means, so I gave him all the tips on spotting the many counterfeits.
It's usually as easy as:
Smell
Price
Brands
Label
Wrap
If it Smells like sugar, it's no Cuban.
If the Price is dirt cheap, it's probably not Cuban.
If the shop only sells one Brand, it's probably not Cuban.
If the Label isn't completely consistent with the brand name's design, it's not a Cuban.
If the cigar isn't hand rolled, it isn't a Cuban. If aluminum tins or three Wraps aren't an option, they might not be Cubans.
And not that anyone cares, but I get the question "What's so special about Cubans? They're arrogantly expensive, so why not smoke a cigar from Honduras?".
In short, the answer is "You can taste the difference". Blindfold me, give me the Pepsi challenge, and I doubt I'd ever confuse a Cuban Cohiba for one from the Dominican Republic.
