They do. I mean absolutely and totally, with no issues except perhaps the loss of gamecube controller support. They otherwise work exactly how they did on the Wii.

What you're paying for when you 'update' a game to Wii U VC is extra features - the ability to change button layouts, the ability to play the game on the gamepad screen and the suspend poitn feature.

Wii disc games actually play on the Gamepad screen now too, without having to pay for anything. You still need to use the original controller though.

I think it's worth pointing out as well that Nintendo are the only console manufacturer who ARE making all of your digital content available over console generations. The PS4 won't, the XBox One won't (as far as I know), and I'm not even totally sure the Vita had all the PSP stuff on there.

The Wii U though has total access and compatability with Wiiware and Virtual Console purchases, and the 3DS has an almost complete DSiWare library available to download too.

Could be, depending on perspective. Though, with Sony for example, you can buy a PSOne Classic once, and use it on PS3, PSP, and Vita, and probably PS4 as well. Your account is one account across devices. I know they've had limited rollouts for some, like not all PSOne games being offered on the Vita off the bat...but then again they're also dealing with different architectures.

They already have this. Its called Super Metroid.


A new game would be cool but I hope they go for a side scroller if they do one.

I was not the one who complained about the Wii online game transfers, just to be clear on that. A lot of people are upset with the direction Nintendo is taking, you can not tell me that the Wii+Wii U today has similar fan base that they had on the SNES+N64+Gamecube . I know of a lot of people who grew around Nintendo, today they are not even thinking about the Wii even though I tried to get them into it. To be honest, they still care about Mario Kart and maybe willing to purchase the next console just for that game...


Any way, Christmas is coming soon along with the release of PS4/XboxOne and Black Friday which should spike the Wii U sales up. When should start hearing of the units sales increase?



out of topic: I just realized Black Friday and Christmas are close to each other and thats when people shop most. Shouldn't they separate them to create that shopping "spike" later on in the year?

Black Friday is a big shopping day, in large part, because it's close to Christmas. People are shopping for gifts, not just for themselves.

I am not up to date on what games are supposed to come out for the Wii/Wii-U. Is there a major title, like another Metroid, Zelda, Mario, some other new game in the works?
