As one of my good buddies always says, "I know. Right?".noiseredux wrote:Luke, when I saw you posted I was like "yes! He finally beat Infinite!" Dood, get on it!
I had set up the 360 in my living room as my Father really wanted to watch Infinite being played, but we never got around to it. Too much holidaying.
I do need to beat it before the new year, but it doesn't help that I just started persona 4.

Holy Crap. I just checked howlongtobeat and it estimates that it takes over 72 hours to beat Persona 4. What have I gotten myself into?BoneSnapDeez wrote:So we'll see this on the Games Beaten 2015 list?Luke wrote:but it doesn't help that I just started persona 4.

It's a classic, and the fact I never played through it had been bothering me for some time. I have now beaten four of the nine Dragon Quest games released in North America (i.e., I, III, IV, and IX), and I may try to get through more of them next year. Unfortunately, II is next on my list, and I have not heard good things about that game.
(Having spent a significant amount of time with both the NES and GBC versions, I am confident that the GBC version is superior. It contains a fun animated cut scene at the beginning of the game; the story has been re-translated so that it is more consistent with the Japanese original and its sequels; the battle backgrounds are improved; it features a quick save; and some of the annoying things about the original - such as opening a menu to ascend or descend stairs - have been removed. The amount of map visible at any time is reduced because the game is on a smaller screen, but it is otherwise identical to its NES counterpart. I am hopeful that, as with Dragon Warrior I, the improvements to the GBC port of Dragon Warrior II will iron out some of the game's issues...)
I am currently playing through Mirror's Edge (PS3) and Lost in Shadow (Wii), and I may try to push through both of those (and another short mystery game) to bring my total for the year up to thirty.

I'd say II and VII are skippable. You need to play V, VI, and VIII though.prfsnl_gmr wrote:I have now beaten four of the nine Dragon Quest games released in North America (i.e., I, III, IV, and IX), and I may try to get through more of them next year.
