it's pretty rad, i like the theme and it sounds good with the boom box topper in place. it's a little quiet, but i think it just needs a new volume pot inside the door there. if not it could be a sound amp thing. idk.

If all the electronics are in good shape, monthly/yearly waxing and eventual rubber replacements. But when MPUs start going bad, thats when things become a money pit.

Luckily, there is ALOT of information on the subject out there. IPDB, VPforums, and KLOV, are all full of folks that know these machines inside and out. My cousins Rocky and Bullwinkle had a short in the soundboard that when I posted up what was happening I got a image PMed to me wihtin an hour saying "solder this point to this one like in the attached image." Bingo bango, 10 minutes of work and back to 100%

I picked up a nice Neo Geo CD lot off Craig's List earlier this week. It's pretty out of the ordinary to see something more obscure like this being sold by on CL and surprisingly the vultures weren't flocking to it like they normally do to the mediocre Nintendo stuff. The price wasn't exactly resale friendly either but it was good enough for me to jump on. The only issue was the down direction wasn't working on the joystick (which I should have asked to test when I saw the system running) but I did some research in fixing worn down micro switches and it's one more type of repair I can feel confident about in the future so it's all good. Fun system.
