What RPG are you playing right now?

I started playing Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep again this weekend. Previously I only did one playthrough with Aqua. I played through Terra's perspective over the weekend and started up Ventus' long enough to get to a save point.

I also got Kingdom Hearts 3D in the mail today and am eagerly awaiting Aug 19th so I can pick up my 3DS XL! I am still in denial that Kingdom Hearts 1 came out nearly 10 years ago.

I am still playing Dragon Quest IX. I am nearly 40 hours into the game, and I really have not made that much progress on the main story. (I just picked up the fygg in Batsureg.) I am just having so much fun completing quests and hunting down ingredients for the alchemy pot that the main quest is just kind of sitting in the background.

Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey for me. And then I have a giant stack of other ds rpgs I need to get to.

Legend of Dragoon for PS1...I love and hate the combat system - the enemy AI is a mess, some battles seem pretty unfair, but the timing attacks are pretty fun...sometimes. The graphics are atrocious, but I do like the story and the characters. Mixed bag for sure.

Yeah, the timing attacks thing in games is cool sometimes, but in LoD they just kept getting longer and more complicated, and it got tedious. I never did finish that one, but everything else about it seemed pretty cool.

It takes some getting used to, but eventually you get the muscle memory down for the timing of everyone's attacks. Unfortunately for Legend of Dragoon, it also suffers from a very slow story exposition during the second disc. The first disc is fine, but the second felt like it moved at a crawl when I played through the game. The third picked up a bit, and the fourth flies past.

Or at least that is what I remember. It's been a long time since I played it.

Finally about to beat Scenario 1 of Shining Force 3. Just a couple battles to go.
