Please update me, I was under the impression most of these carts were around $5 retail and you can find them for $1 in pawn stores or bundled online

Not anymore. Many N64 games have really gone up. I sold Super Smash Bros. in an eBay auction recently for $53.

its kind of ironic because Super Smash and Mario Kart carts solid in the millions. You would think the ones that would be higher in price the rarer ones.

update: Bad Fur Day is at $100 loose!! What a joke, I am glad I played this 5-6 years ago and I believe a friend gave it to me. He had it stored since early 2000's

Actually, the rarer ones are more expensive. Sculptor's Cut goes for $200+ these days. In the case of Super Smash, Mario Kart, and Conker, it's also because they are highly desired. Sure, millions of carts, but also millions of people who want those carts.

I think it was a small miracle that I managed to get a boxed grape purple N64 with Conker's BFD, Smash Bros. and Turok 3, all CIB for $100 this past winter. I don't think I'm ever going to beat that find.

Yeah, probably not anymore.

I just did the math. I own 28 NTSC-U N64 games, worth about $560(or about $eleventy bajillion in eBay prices). Of those 28 games, 2 make up about half of the total value.

You can actually sell those for more as a buy-it-now. I recently sold it for $64.

Used to own that one and am kinda kicking myself for getting rid of it. The thing is though, it's such a terrible terrible game I didn't want to own it anymore!

I sold it when it was going for around $55. Didn't know it would just surge in price like it has, but man does it SUCK.

The new route the trained me on today was litterall less than an hour long  . So I hit the pawns to see what was new. Was excited to find some N64 at a fair price :) plus a few other small things.

Image

First stop was at the west side Tri-state Pawn in Huntington.

Was really excited to see the pawns had a few fresh N64 games they were $4 which isn't the best price ever, but still a solid deal for this area. Got Hybrid Heaven, Armorines Project S.W.A.R.M., Excitebike 64, Chopper Attack, and Body Harvest.

Also picked up the following.

Scurge Hive- $8
I've always been interested in this game for some reason. New girl quoted me at $5so I was more then happy to pick it up CIB. However it rang up $8(No clue why they haven't dropped these since PS3/Wii/360 games are $5) :P since she was new I didn't give her a hard time especially since I was happy with the rest of my purchase. Still happy that I got it CIB since i would say %80+ of my DS collection is loose.

Also picked up Wii Sports Resort to trade/sell since I already have both the retail and paper sleeve versions.

The rest I got at their East end location.

Gitaroo Man Lives!- $5
Have yet to play a Gitaroo Man game so I was excited to see this on their shelf since they haven't gotten any fresh PSP games in what feels like ages.

Also picked up Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag "Target Edition"(PS3) for $5 already have it for PS3, but I might swap this out for my standard copy. Finally I got Dragon Age Inquisition(360) for $5 it's definitely going in the sale/trade pile though since I'm planing on grabbing a PS4 copy down the road once the price drops.

Cool Finds, always nice to find a pawn shop that sells games at a flat rate. I know of one called Cash America that has flat rates on PS2, DS, and Gameboy games.

I doubt there are millions of people out there willing to pay $100 for Bad Fur Day , which they have to own the 64 too to play it, instead of just downloading the 5mb rom or so in 2 min.

I think those who are raising the prices are business people who buy to sell to the next guy for more, like the stock market, and the fool will be the guy who find himself with a cart thats really is worth $10-20 yet he was hoping to sell it for $250 to break even.

What worries me are hoarders. I think many people will say "I will just store it for 5-10 years it probably be even higher then"

I'm just looking forward to future estate sales  . Although it will probably be a decade or two more till games start popping up in those more often.

If they want to play it they will. Conker is one of the few N64 games that is not worth emulating due to system issues.
