They released a new Genesis just to give out a better sound?
No. Sega manufactured many different variations of the Genesis. Some have better sound quality than others.

It also helps you can get stereo out of the headphone jack.

Wario Master of Disguise
Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume
Wii
Mushroom Men: The Spore Wars(cib ^_^)
Generator Rex: Agent of Providence(now if i want to play this I can play on wii, nds, and ps3

Whoa, you bought both Mushroom Men! Did that Wii game come from the same Wallymart with the deleted SKU?
Good choice also on De Blob, a fun game. There is also Wii De Blob 2 and the original freeware PC version from the Denmark coder.

Nope all from the gamestop in the opposite direction(which was missing the usual gal that I'd become friends with but the two in the store today defy those snobby/snooty types others run into, more of the nice employees that you don't hear about often but that's a post for another thread). I think before I left I hightailed it to their ds shelf that has all the games with cases on it and saw the mushroom men for it. It was one of those "why not?" moments since I already had the wii version picked up, might as well buy the sequel

Plus de Blob I think I originally heard about in the back of a archie comic(they had some awesome game ads when I was really picking them up from random harris teeters or walmart with my dad). So it's been on the wantlist for quite awhile(now i just need to get to the nintendo, atlus, xseed, and konami taxed games I haven't bought yet *sigh*). I think next month I'm going to need to haunt the other gamestops to see what they have that i might be looking for...

Most Nintendo consoles really. Sans modding, toploader NES is RF only, SNES mini has no S-Video, later model Gamecubes removed digital AV out, etc.
PS1s also had ports removed as models went on.
Reasonably common for consoles due to cost-cutting.

I have no idea about hand-helds. As for PS2 fat I thought the slim was the better option. I don't agree with ps3. The earlier models can be backward compatible but you have the huge size, YLOD, and smaller HD size.
I wouldn't say dropping backward compatibility means its less advanced. I will only judge the console based on its own games.

PS3 also cut down the number of USB ports, removed flash memory card readers, removed SACD support, and OtherOS support was removed via software updates as well.
I'd agree to the extent that the PS3 is a mixed bag. The Slim is better at being a PS3 and (marginally) Blu-ray player, but the hardware was certainly pared down over the revisions as well.
PS2 Slim is more debatable as you give up the ability to use the HDD, but it does have the ethernet port built in. Generally though, yeah, it's not like it plays PS2 games any worse.

I got some things today!
I put them over on my video thread!
Basically, I got an Atari Flashback console for $5.00, complete with plugs and controllers.
Indigo Prophecy, Fusion Frenzy and Top Spin Tennis for $3.00
and a Retro-bit third party n64 controller for $3.00!
I am most happy finding Indigo prophecy for a dollar!
