I was playing the PS1 version of Blood Omen, because that was the original version of the game. The PC version is a port, but maybe the camera is better on PC, I don't know. The other four Legacy of Kain sequels were developed by Crystal Dynamics. The first game was only published by Crystal Dynamics. I don't think it's a licensing issue, so much as Blood Omen aged terribly and generally sucks, and isn't worth the trouble of putting on GOG.

That whole era can be very iffy on PC. I think I'll just check them out on their original consoles sometime if I get around to it.

Thread related, an hour of Mighty No 9 is enough for me. Flushed...

 Yeah, I played the intro stage, and a bit of the oil rig stage not too long ago. Once I got to a section with narrow passages that needed to be dashed through, with spikes on the ceiling and floor, and death pits on either side, I said, "no."

I think that purple electrical spikey instant death stuff was in all ~4 levels I tried.

And people thought X6 had bad level design...

I know a person at school who absolutely loves the entire X-series. She doesn't even like the Zero series because of how it affected the X-lore. I didn't know such madness was possible O.o

I enjoyed Blood Omen quite a bit ... when it came out. It didn't take very long to age out so 20 years have definitely done it no favors. That being said, I love where CD (early Amy Hennig work) took the story in the sequels, especially Soul Reaver 1 & 2.

I am going to give the sequels a shot. I remember enjoying the first Soul Reaver when it released, but I didn't finish it. IIRC correctly I rented the game and ran out of time before I had to return it.

I think I got stuck somewhere in Soul Reaver on Dreamcast. I couldn't figure out where to go next.

Lego Worlds might end up here for me. Jury is still out. It's turned into a bit of a No Man's Sky slog through procedurally generated worlds to hunt for the occasional Lego person with a quest that rewards a gold brick. 100 gold bricks is "beaten" and I'm at 46...I think. Maybe 48. I was drunk when I quit playing last night, so I don't remember.

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze

As is also true for its predecessor, the controls in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze suck balls. Jumps are low and sluggish, it's hard to gain momentum, there's a dedicated "grab" button for vines and whatnot (wtf), button placement is weird, and so on. I appreciate the multiple configurations offered, but they all are terrible. One even brings back the waggle. Kill me.

The original SNES game flows like water down a gentle stream. This is just an exercise in frustration.
