What part is giving you a problem? Maybe I can help you out on it?

Also, got to play some people's levels today while the baby napped. Here are my thoughts.

@Teh Lurv - Pipes and Plants - I got a chance to play through this one and enjoyed it a bunch. My only real gripe with it is that I felt that the early pipe portion felt a bit too claustrophobic, making it a bit tough to get your jumps just right. If the pipes and ceiling were placed just a single space high it would be a bit more enjoyable. This did feel like a Mario level though and I really enjoyed it.

Wall Slide or Die - This is a really really fun level that is very challenging. For those that are interested in doing a Wall Sliding heavy level, look to this for inspiration on different traps and techniques you can include in your levels. I loved how perfectly timed you had the thwomp in the beginning. I have yet to complete it, as I have gotten about 3/4ths through the level before I had to stop, but I definitely plan on completing it. The only gripe that I have is that the jump over the piranha plants to the sliding platform near the beginning has some timing issues. You can trigger the platform when unsuccessfully trying to slide down the wall, making it impossible to make the jump if you do slide down the wall at the wrong time. You can't see the platform or time it right when this happens and just have to blindly make the jump and pray. That is the only tweek I think that needs to be made in some way and even then it is minor. The level is really well planned and is a LOT of fun!

@Blu - The Caged Beast Springs - What a great first try Blu. The enemy choice was great and the use of the large enemies made it fun and diverse. My only gripe with this is that some of the enemies weren't much of a danger and where in fact easier to get by, by just jumping on them instead of taking the trampolines. Try putting them earlier in the course, or use some of the more dangerous enemies. I know you just started out and probably don't have the spiked enemies yet, but definitely think of revising the level and adding them in.

I'm a Kid Now, I'm a Squid Now - I'm a Squid. I love the shoutout levels, as they tend to be short, visually creative and just fun. My only gripe is that some of the letters clashed with the lower platforms. When you leave a two space gap between the ground and the ceiling when jumping a gap, there is little room for error. It just takes a little adjustment and it would be perfect! I loved it though! Now you just need to be cool like reprise and make a Shenmue shoutout level! :P

Reprise - Beware of the Dog - I really liked this level a LOT! There were great platforming elements and the use of the Chain Chomp gave a bit more strategy in circumventing it instead of just, "Jumping Over it." I loved the use of the saw blades near the end and they really evened the pacing out and were a perfect cherry on top of a really fun level! Great Job! Your stuff keeps getting exponentially better and better!

Ziggy - Underground Fun V2 - I really really enjoyed the level with all the great little secrets and nooks and crannies! You did a great job of packing a lot of awesome content into it. The only thing I have to say in terms of improvement is during the pipe portion of the level with the fire spitting piranha plants... the way the pipes are arranged, there is no danger of getting hit as the fireballs always hit the side of the pipe you are standing on. Moving those pipes down a single space lower would make it a lot more risky and frantic. Outside of that I loved it.

Spin Jump to Freedom (Insane!) - The title explains it perfectly. Insane! I need to spend more time trying it. I got to the underground portion and died thanks to me not paying attention. SO CLOSE! I will be trying to beat this one for sure!

Man! I am loving the stuff you guys are making! Everyone is getting better and better with the tools and level design. I am so happy to be a part of this great community of retro lovers who really get Mario and can make such fun levels. These experiences aren't like the sadistic punishment I have seen from other users, nor are they softball levels. The stuff you guys make have a clear vision and any fault found in the levels can be attributed to the small mistakes a player makes when playing. You can see the strategy and what was intended in the levels and that makes it special!

Keep it up guys!

@TEKTORO - Thank you so much! It warms my heart to hear someone say kind things to another person, especially on the internet! What is crazy is that my first experience mapping is.... in Mario Maker!!! I have gotten a lot of time to be able to play it during nap times with my daughter and after she goes to bed. My wife works nights, so my evening is all to myself and I spend a lot of my time working on them. I can't wait until you get the game and have your talents shared!

P.S. For everyone playing Sky-High Hijinks, a great tip when tackling the beetles is this. When you jump on them they raise higher in the air. This can help you get a better vantage point. In the second set of beetles, if you jump on the first incoming beetle, his height should make any later jumps a bit more easy. Good luck and keep trying! I know you all can beat it!

Ah, so you're Heino! I'm like, "Who's this 'Heino' that keeps playing my levels!?"

So you played all the levels from levels I starred with usernames you knew from the boards... But there's a few people here that don't have the same username on the forums as they do on Miiverse. We should do something about that, like edit the first post to put the Miiverse handle in parenthesis next to the RB username.

Spin jump to freedom set
These were a nice break from other maps, I beat them all in a row.

I got this idea before the game came out and couldn't wait to try it. I uploaded the INSANE version last night... no one has beaten it yet. Did I make it too hard?

Practice Castle
I see where you were going with this, and I like it alot. With some tweaking, this could be one of the best castles on the service.

Thanks! It's funny it turned out so well because it was the third level I made and still had a basic set of items to work with. Since it's upload, I've tweaked the level some, but I'm hesitant to upload the updated version because of how many stars the original version is racking up.

SMB3 Ground Antics
Loved it so much my wife's cat decided to star it before I even played it.

Thanks! If you liked it, definitely try out Super Mario Ground Antics and Underground Fun, they're in the same vein.

But to follow suit, I created one yall can pick apart:
Fastigium - E183-000-003F-AF54

I just played it. Not bad at all, it was pretty fun to play. My only complaint is the Lakitu, he's too high. So after you start dropping down, you can't see him anymore, and then the spiny start flying out of no where and they're really hard to dodge. But, that's my only complaint!

Yeah, I wanted to do something different there, but the Piranhas were giving me shit. They take WAY too long to start popping out of the pipes after the pipes come on screen. So you can just pass through that entire section and they wont pop out until after you've already passed them. It's REALLY annoying, I've noticed this is true with any enemies you place into pipes. I think Nintendo needs to fix this in an update!

So, I adjusted that section in a way that takes a little longer to platform, so you MIGHT get a glimpse of the Piranhas even if they hit you with fire balls.

Did you get to the 3rd secret 1-up? The one you have to bail off Yoshi to get to? I really enjoyed making that secret, especially making that small room a one way deal without having to use the one way item thing.

Spin Jump to Freedom (Insane!) - The title explains it perfectly. Insane! I need to spend more time trying it. I got to the underground portion and died thanks to me not paying attention. SO CLOSE! I will be trying to beat this one for sure!

It's still at 0% completions! It's not THAT hard, is it?

It's definitely only for the skilled SMW player! But, I felt like even the hard spin dash level was still too easy, so I really went all out with Insane. And while I was making insane, I was getting all these ideas to make an even harder version... but if no one is beating Insane then I'll hold off on that.

Here's my tips for beating the level: Slow down. The first part is auto scrolling, so it forces you to slow down anyway. But try this technique, rapidly press left and right on the D-pad while in the air to really control where you're landing. When you have to slow down to clear a gap, use this technique to inch up to the last block before the gap, then jump over.

Did you get to the part in the second area with the punch sound effect? It really messes with you right at one of the hardest parts of the levels! It distracts you REALLY bad at the worst moment, but I think it's funny. Good luck! I hope you beat it!

Aside from playing the 100 Mario Challenge a few times, I haven't even played any levels outside of Racketboy created ones! I can't even keep up! I'm loving it!

Bogus, your dedication to this game, playing everyone's levels and offering fair and constructive feedback is inspirational! Thanks for your comments on my level Beware of the Dog.

I was doing better at it when first tried playing it (maybe last night or this morning before work). I was able to get past the flying beetles, but then kept messing up (I can't remember a specific part). Now I can't even get past the flying beetles lol. And I only just discovered the hidden racoon power up, but that still isn't helping me. I think I might just not be concentrating hard enough. I'm pretty tired.

Oh, and yet another level from me! :)

That was a lot of fun! I like the the multi path / maze-like design. You don't feel punished for taking one way over another. And it has loads of replay value! I'll definitely be playing it again!

Thanks, that was the plan! Glad it worked for you :)

Edit: For reference and those interested, I think the bottom path is the easiest, the middle is the hardest and the top is somewhere between the two. There isn't a lot in it though imo.

I have no words as to why I have as many stars as I do. I just assume that it is all from Racketboy members. I wish I could see who starred them so that I could figure out who are just supportive retro gamers and who are random strangers. At least then I could see if I was doing things right or not.

Don't worry about cranking out levels and worry more about creating more complete experiences. Make what you enjoy and people will enjoy them just as much. At least I think.

When in doubt, make an auto-level.

I want to make a level that has a time of 10 and a level that says, "DON'T TOUCH YOUR CONTROLLER!" and time expires. Muahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahaha!

Also, I have three interesting level ideas. Two are silly gimmicks, but I think will be fun and a third will be more of a Mario level. Working on the third idea right now and it is taking a lot of time to get it juuuuuust right. We will see how it pans out. Let me know when I finish it!

Thanks for the feedback Bogus! I'd love to go back and edit these levels when I get more things.

This forum is really inventive and you're really creative with your levels!
