That's funny. My hype level increased dramatically when this was announced.

According to player one podcast, there were negative comments coming out of E3 from people playing the Starfox game :(

Being fair, someone is going to complain about any game, even if only because everyone else likes it.

I'm not super keen on seeing Platinum's involvement either though.

It's only co-developed by Platinum. Nintendo's website lists Nintendo as the developer, and down in the features it says "Developed in partnership with Platinum Games."

Also...and FYI...the only Star Fox game without a co-developer is the original version of Star Fox 64.

Y'know, I imagine it wouldn't have been to big of a hit with the whole market, and might not have made waves, but why doesn't Sony make a bigger deal about the Japanese games they get on PS4 that don't go elsewhere? We saw some stuff from Square Enix in that regard, but some of the sites I follow show a lot of what appears to be decent games coming out of the East. I just think its odd- I assume it has to do with the fact that it doesn't/they don't think it will sell well with western audiences, but it seems odd to me.

And also, how much creative control do you think Nintendo gives a co-developer? I mean, I have no idea. Do you think Nintendo just gives them a "to-do" list? Like, "Here's what we want done, have your team code it up for us. Thanks!"

Well, I'll keep my fingers crossed. Starfox just doesn't seem like the sort of thing that is up Platinum's alley and I know games made with other developers have been hit and miss (Other M). Plus, the last Platinum game I played (Korra) wasn't all that great.

According to the Player One podcast, people were having issues with the control. The whole using the gamepad to move your ship around and also for aiming seemed awkward for a lot of players

This concerns me, because there are games on the Wii that suck mainly due to Nintendo's insistence on gimmicky controls. I hope the finished product we get with Starfox is excellent. It's still one of my most anticipated games.
