Yeah I'm going to have to start playing again when I get home, I think I was still trying to get under 25 on it(yes I'm really determined on it even if it's a waste of time and wanted to try to get it this time around...)

I'll write some cumulative thoughts in the Games Beaten thread later and continue to watch this one to see how the rest of yous are coming along.

I struggle to motivate myself to play home console games after work for whatever reason so I'm marathoning Grandia at weekends. Based on the time you started disc 2 (about the same amount of hours in as I did) and your final time, I figure I have 2 more weekends worth of this to go, so I'll probably finish on the 1st.

Well I have made it past the Zill Desert and padon sections of the game. I across the Brinn Mountain's area and made it to the village of Milda. So far so good on track with the game, but i have started to skip on exploring everything and grind a lot less. I feel like there is no real reason to grind that i have encountered yet.

Still loving the game and the story is really fantastic so far. I think that after I am done with this I might go out and pick up a copy of Grandia III on the PS2. I have never played it either. Does anybody have any good or bad opinions of the game? Should I play it or just skip over it?

38 hours, 38 minutes: I just finished the Warp Zone. It's sick, but part of me wants to do the bonus dungeons. Just to say this game is COMPLETE. I'd definitely do them if I was playing the Saturn version and knew I could carry my save over to Grandia Digital Museum.

But I know I'll regret it if I try! I read a guide for them and the author is all "this one's easiest but Justin was level 30 and I died multiple times." UGH, and for me Justin is only level 27. As it stands, I'm still not having much difficulty against enemies except my compulsive habits push me to extend combat super-long so I can get character's skills/magic as high as I can. (Justin just learned Heaven & Earth Cut! WATCH OUT!)

I expect that sanity will return to me tomorrow and I'll recognize that the bonus dungeons are a waste of time. Otherwise, this game won't be beaten this month!

I found that this one costs too much SP to be worth it. I'd mostly stick to Dragon Cut, as it also levels Earth and Fire.

Not if you use the item that cuts your SP usage in half!

I did use that.

I dunno, I found that most enemies were owned easily enough by Dragon Cut or even Dragon Zap.

Plus, I liked leveling fire up an insane degree. :P

Been playing more of this this weekend. Yesterday I blasted through the Cafu section of the game and saved at the entrance to Zil Desert. Today, I started at Zil Desert and played through to Brinan Plateau.

Brinan Plateau is my absolute least favourite part of the game thus far. The fights are tedious, the place is confusing, the music is incredibly, incredibly annoying and the whole area goes on forever.

After spending about an hour wandering around the second section of Brinan Plateau, I finall found the way to the exit.

An enemy encounter sprung up and caught me, so I started the fight with him and...

Bam. Frozen. There goes the last hour or so of progress and 15 or so magic levels between my party members. I've had enough of the stupid game freezes. Looking at a guide and approximating how long is left, I'd be suprised if I hadn't finished the game by now - freezes have cost me at least 5-8 hours of gameplay at this point.

I think I'm going to try and buy a PS1 console for cheap from eBay today and finish this one it arrives. I've put 37 hours into this game (actually, like 44 counting replaying sections) and I want to finish, but I'm going to have an aneurysm if I keep trying to slug through on PS2.

Slacking bad on this one. Definitely won't finish this month, but it's staying in the rotation.
