So is the new 3DS going to be far and away better than the old one for playing Smash Bros? I was just watching a video (Boogie2988) and he made a quick comment to the effect of "obviously if you're playing Smash Bros. and you don't have a C stick you're going to be at a disadvantage".

The c stick just lets you pull off a quick uncharged smash attack. It doesnt add any function that cant be done using a normal 3DS.

So no, it won't be 'far and away' the better option at all.

I see the 3DS as the Mario Party of Smash Bros. It is the one you don't take seriously as a competitive game, yet find all the various exclusive 3DS gameplay modes entertaining and fun. I think Nintendo realized that the 3DS is not the idea control scheme for Smash Bros. so they offered up a lot of gameplay modes that really focus on a more single player aspect, but also, Smash Run offers a fun, casual party-game atmosphere that changes things up in Smash; a mode akin to Kirby's Air Ride's City Trial.

I am gonna love it regardless, as the demo showed me it works and is a blast to play on the system, but I see it as a warm up for the WiiU.

When this comes out you're going down.

I will flex my amazingly terrible Smash skills upon you. Are you ready?

Dude bring it. My Mr. Game & Watch will annihilate you.

Also...doesn't anyone else see that Villager is going to be super OP?

He is the master of vertical and horizontal recovery, his tree is a shield and the leaves can hurt you if you jump on top of it. No need to chop...that thing is more dangerous standing up.

In my time with the demo I thought he was super overpowered. Granted I am also not the best judge of characters, I thought Meta Knight was weak when I first played him.

I will certainly play with Villager. He's so cute and the franchise is one of my favorites. Great fan-service. The question I have for all Wii-U owners is if anyone uses the ethernet adapter. I have a wi-fi network that isn't my own and it's not compatible with Wii-U's adapter. No, I'm not leeching wi-fi, for anyone that's wondering. I live on campus and ethernet is what I have my consoles connected to.
