A noisy Dreamcast is a healthy Dreamcast.

1.) What is the best video cable/cord for the Dreamcast?
2.) Does this console require modding to play back ups?
3.) Should I invest in getting broadband connection on a Dreamcast? I know some people still do online stuff on a Dreamcast. Mine still has the built-in phoneline internet, which I never used. And I doubt people still use that kind of connection.
4.) Can you repair the controllers? Both of my controllers' joysticks don't feel smooth. And one of the controllers' cord has to be in a certain position for it to work.
5.) Where can I get some video game suggestions? I know nothing of the Dreamcast library. All I pretty much did was play Mortal Kombat Gold and those 2k sports games. I am looking into trying out the Dreamcast classics that I never played.

It depends on the model. Some will play burned discs right out of the box.
Burned discs will take a toll on your system after awhile though. Most of the games on the system are pretty inexpensive anymore, and they're typically worth buying over the risk of damage to your system.
i like cool fighting games now. rpgs.

-Marvel Vs Capcom
-Marvel Vs Capcom 2
-Street Fighter 3: Third Strike
-Street Fighter Alpha 3
-The King Of Fighters '99 Evolution
-Fatal Fury: Mark Of The Wolves
(and plenty more great titles)
I'd really recommend a fight stick for the system (or a Total Control adapter to use another systems fight stick). The controllers can be a bit of a pain to play some of the 6-button fighters on.
RPGs aren't as well represented, but there are some gems.
-Skies Of Arcadia
-Elemental Gimmick Gear
-Evolution 1 & 2
-Phantasy Star Online
I don't know much about the import stuff except that there are a lot more offerings that way, if you're just playing backups, you can definitely find some other great stuff in the Japanese releases.
Capcom Vs SNK !!!
