This is a must read. A perfect accounting of how we treat peaceful protesters in America, compared with how we treat billion dollar fraudsters.
Anyone switching to a credit union with what's going on?

Lol at these last few posts... if anything, mainstream media is sympathetic to the protestors and giving them plenty of air time and recogition which they want.
They aren't bad people, but misguided imo. Certainly not the most brave or the smartest, it is laughable to assert that.

Peacefully demonstrating and then getting tear gassed and arrested isn't brave?Jmustang1968 wrote:Lol at these last few posts... if anything, mainstream media is sympathetic to the protestors and giving them plenty of air time and recogition which they want.

Not particularly. They didn't go in knowing they'd get tear gassed and arrested. And even if you want to consider that brave, it's still doesn't qualify them as the bravest. Those in the armed forces or the police are braver. You never know if the guy you pull over on a routine traffic stop is going to plug you.o.pwuaioc wrote:Peacefully demonstrating and then getting tear gassed and arrested isn't brave?Jmustang1968 wrote:Lol at these last few posts... if anything, mainstream media is sympathetic to the protestors and giving them plenty of air time and recogition which they want.

Focusing more on the original topic, I finally switched over to a credit union two weeks ago. Surprisingly, canceling my Wells Fargo was painless and despite a small hiccup, I managed to transfer all my money over to my new CU. It felt good shredding all my Wells Fargo docs and it feels refreshing to not be with a big bank anymore!

Many knew, it's not like this is a one time thing. NYC OWS has had a few arrests now. LA members were facebooking/tweeting back and forth when news broke that arrests were going to happen.MrPopo wrote:Not particularly. They didn't go in knowing they'd get tear gassed and arrested. As for the pulled over thing, bystanders are much more likely to die in a public shootout then police. Does that make bystanders brave? Might want to tidy up those logical holes, there.
** Not saying that we shouldn't call our men in uniform brave, so don't get me wrong on that idea.
Re: Anyone switching to a credit union with what's going on?
Agreed. I can't think of anything in the media I've seen that even insinuates that the protestors are bad people. They might portray the protestors as unfocused or misguided and sometimes silly but I've yet to see someone in professional journalism outright against them.Jmustang1968 wrote:Lol at these last few posts... if anything, mainstream media is sympathetic to the protestors and giving them plenty of air time and recogition which they want.

The peaceful part is deceiving at times. Smart and brave typically contradict one another.o.pwuaioc wrote:Peacefully demonstrating and then getting tear gassed and arrested isn't brave?Jmustang1968 wrote:Lol at these last few posts... if anything, mainstream media is sympathetic to the protestors and giving them plenty of air time and recogition which they want.
