Same here. I'll probably be removing my credit card information from PSN (assuming it's still there) and refrain from buying anything off there again though. Video game related things are pretty much at the bottom of the list of things I'm willing to get all self righteous over.
same here. I mean to date, I've only spent $5 on PSN since I got my first PSP in 2008. So whatever. I can always just buy PSN Cards if I REALLY need to buy something on PSN. But I always opt for a physical game over a downloaded one anyway.

Well, not for another 10 years or so.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Yeah, that's what I'm planning on as well. No more direct credit card info, just the PSN cards. I won't be boycotting Sony. I've had good luck with them up until now, and even with all this happening, it doesn't really bother me that much. I've had to replace my credit card before. I've had to send in my psp under warranty to get fixed. My first PS3 quit reading disks when it was just out of warranty, then I bought a slim because of the sheer amount of games I had for the system. Call me an idiot, call me what you will... Haters gonna hate. It's not like Microsoft would be any better in this sort of situation. They will bounce back. This just seems like a huge blowout deal right now... A lot like the Deepwater horizon shit that happened last year. People are making it a bigger deal than it really is.

I got a lengthy Japanese email from Sony today. I must have signed up for a PSN account when I first bought my PS3. Thankfully, I never entered my credit card data, so hopefully I don't have too much to worry about.

Got an email today. I changed my email and some passwords for some main sites i use earlier today, so hopefully they don't get hacked. It was about time, as I was getting tons of spam and it was about time i got a new main one to avoid the glut of crap.

I don't think there's any reason to be concerned about the security of your e-mail address.

Well that email was on file with the PSN, and if hackers took my email address, they could send me tons of spam or use my PSN password in conjuction with my email address and hack into places like Facebook or my actual email service and somehow gain access to other stuff. IDK better safe than sorry I suppose.

Looking pretty shitty.
I was googling stuff and came across an article similar to this from around the same time. It's not in my browser history any more but the jist was that someone could put out a cfw that could gather all the data you have on the ps3 and forward it to them. I wish I could find that article because it was interesting.

oh and the link said he was using dev access so I don't feel bad for him at all
In the interest of security, I advise anyone on efnet #ps3dev (or other chans) to definatly check your accounts for today, as all the other offending IP’s originated from there, which gets my spider senses tingling that a spy/fraudster is among you!
