You can thank "adult" cartoons like South Park and Family Guy for that. There's less demand for shows that truly appeal to people of all ages in today's segregated TV. Kid's shows are intended for kids only, and the same goes for adult shows. There are far fewer shows that are for everyone, and as a result some of the old stuff like Looney Tunes and Rocky & Bullwinkle have been retroactively re-categorized as children's material, and marketed as thus. Stupid, yes, but there it is.[/quote]
"Adult" cartoons are targeted at males between the age of 15-30. That's a wide range, and that range depends on who you use as your source. Some will say "12-25", others "18-34" but I'm just looking at at averages (which are just that average). That in mind, I think most of the people who watch Family Guy are younger than those that watch South Park. And Boring in right, animated shows (I'm excluding South Park as Matt and Trey will always do what they want to do without regard to who writes their paychecks) all try to find their niche.
But, holy shit did anyone else watch Beavis and Butthead last week? So incredible. 14 years later, same show, same humor, same belly laughs.
