Maybe they were universally panned by critics and got a budget price cut a week after hitting the shelves, or maybe the game is just a complete unknown.
yes, I'm exactly the same way. And that's why I enjoyed the first Hyperdimension so much. It seemed so silly and weird to me. I was just amazed it was even a published game in a big deluxe box haha. But I feel like some of that charm wore off by the second game, as I kind of knew what to expect y'know?

Yup. One of my coworkers is a big fan of every NIS/Gust/Heart Compile game that comes out and I get to hear a lot about all of them. He got me into Disgaea, of which I am currently (slowly) playing #4. I also picked up but have not yet played Cross Edge, which I found NIB for I believe $20 a while ago. I have that and Agarest War that I need to get to some day.

yeah I liked Cross Edge too. That was a weird one haha.

How is Disgaea 4? I keep debating playing that or the first and can't really decide which to spend time on.

Get Disgaea 3 and 4 if you want some NIS games that are actually even considered good by western reviewers.

God damn... another Hyperdimension Neptunia title?! I love these games, but how come every JRPG publisher feels the need to crank out titles so quickly? Like, I just got Atelier Totori and now Atelier Meruru is being released in a couple of weeks. Makes my head spin.

And wow Iris Heart is hott.

Actually, the next Atelier game after Meruru will be out in Japan soon.

I don't think it's that unreasonable for these companies to release a game every year. They just happen to be releasing another game in the same series each year but often that is all they put out outside of mash up games.

I still have Atelier Rorona to play through! :P

I like Disgaea 4 better than the others I have played, due to additions and refinements to the overall system. The stories vary throughout the series on how good they are, with most of the people I know liking 1,3,4 and saying that #2 is the weakest in the series.

They're all good IMO, but I like 4 the best, and I am going to play the hell out of 3 once I get my Vita.
