Re: The Master Sytem Appreciation Thread
One of these days I'm gonna buy about 100 CR2032's and just go on a battery changing spree.
Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!
Cheat sheet of my collection, always looking to increase it. 405/677 licensed games, 46/"95" unlicensed
Chronically out of date BST thread

You and me bothKalessinDB wrote:One of these days I'm gonna buy about 100 CR2032's and just go on a battery changing spree.
Let's see, there's NES/FC, SNES, SMS, Genesis, a couple N64 games (and back-up cart)...
Among the lot in my collection, I could probably use that many.
I need some 1616's in there too. In particular, my Kirby's Dreamland 2 needs the operation.
...just another lost soul...

Re: The Master Sytem Appreciation Thread
I love the Master System, if I'm being honest I prefer the SMS to the NES, but the again I rather the Dreamcast over the PS2 maybe I'm bias.
Quick Question!
Do you guys have issues with the SMS controllers, I have four and for some reason three of them have issues with the D-pad or 1/2 buttons. Is it that I have terrible luck with controllers or is it something common or easy to fix?

Arpuhguh? Fffpiss? Bah!
"Shmup" is far more elegant!

Actually yes if you hold the joypad or controler 45deg otherwise it can be very difficult.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Are any of the Marble Madness ports remotely playable?).

yeah, i know..they're all gonna go eventually, and im not skilled enough to change the batteries without losing the data (i hear that's doable though?), was hoping that digital backup feature id read about on the Retron 5 would fix this for me but then that turned out to be shit, so....nightrnr wrote:Or you can change the battery. 20+ year old batteries are always at risk of dying.IrishNinja wrote:Ugh, that's the 2nd (different carts) Golden Axe Warrior battery that's failed me, usually about 3/4 of the way through the game too. now that i have a Mega Everdrive i'm totally playing all battery backup games on that instead.

I love collecting for the SMS but I'm trying REALLY hard to not start buying all kinds of PAL games. I'd really like to own a full US collection some day, but I know if I go down the PAL rabbit hole it'll just take me that much longer.

TBH most of the good games on the Master System were PAL only, import away.Snatch1414 wrote:I love collecting for the SMS but I'm trying REALLY hard to not start buying all kinds of PAL games. It seems like there are some good games for sure. It's just the usual: $10 here, $20 there. Adds up. Of course I was probably mentioning it in part so someone would say what you said!ninjainspandex wrote:TBH most of the good games on the Master System were PAL only, import away.Snatch1414 wrote:I love collecting for the SMS but I'm trying REALLY hard to not start buying all kinds of PAL games. I nabbed a CIB Power Strike for $50 less than a year ago and I think you were the first one to support that purchase when I was on the fence actually. I don't regret it now so I'm glad I grabbed it. Very good shape too.Hobie-wan wrote:And then there's Sonic and Power Strike.Snatch1414 wrote: It seems like there are some good games for sure. It's just the usual: $10 here, $20 there. Adds up.
