Kent Brockman: [bored] Halfback passes to the center. Back to the wing. Back to the center. Center holds it. Holds it. [sighs] Holds it.
Foreign-accented sports commentator: [excited] Halfback passes to center, back to wing, back to center, center holds it! Holds it! Holds It!

So I missed the last four days of games and caught the highlights today. I am starting to agree with ZeroAX, this is becoming a poor cup.

I'll type what most Americans are thinking:

"Teams are still playing soccer? Why is some guy posting on the internet what I am thinking?"

I'm for team Germany.

I watched Paraguay play Japan earlier today. All of the announcers were pissed at the refs because the Japanese kept getting yellow cards they didn't deserve while the Paraguayans would pull shit and nothing would happen.

Only game I've watched, but after everything else...screw this. I'll go watch something else.

Sometimes they're retarded like that (see: "Cala a boca, Galvão" meme), but most of the time they don't get too excited when nothing happens.

By the way, while I do think your sports announcers are often too deadened when watching a game, I mostly hate the announcing in this country. They describe every single detail going on on the screen. It's like I'm listening to the game on the radio.

You should see Greek TV announcers. To fill the time, they talk about the personal life of the players. Specially in Basketball with all the downtime.

Brazil is having a hard time against the Dutch it seems.

Edit - Now that Brazil is out, the cup can still be taken by one of them greenies. Interesting developments. Dunga should hang his head in shame, with Maradona possibly to follow tomorrow.

Damn, I got so fucking drunk today. I must've drank a million beers. I'm still bad.

On the bright side, Dunga will never ever again set foot close to the Brazilian team. Neither will Felipe Melo (this one I'm hoping gets lynched once he comes to Brazil) or Michel Bastos. Hell, I hope I never hear about Ramires, Grafite, Gilberto or Julio Baptista ever again.

Fuck yeah, Argentina down. I thought I couldn't be happy again. How wrong I was.

Edit: 3-0 now. I'm laughing.

4-0.. Awww :(

Perhaps coaches will finally learn that having superstars on the team =/= victory.

I feel sorry for Maradona, but he brought it upon himself.
