Hey all, another gaming fanatic here like all of y'all, who's especially a fan of Sega (despite their awful record of late).
Hardly find much time to play games these days, and I seem to spend more time collecting games than actually playing them, but hopefully I'll be able to find the time soon.
New Members: Introduce Yourself!
Hi all,
My name is JF. I'm 34 years old. I live in Santiago of Chile.
I've been playing video games almost all my life, and since 2005 I'm collecting video games, as well.
My first console was a Odyssey 2 from Philips that my parents bougth me for Xmas. The last console I bought was a Nintendo TV-Game 6 from 1977....
My favorite gaming machine is actually a microcomputer: Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Speccy rules!!!
As most of you, I invest more time learning about games and collecting them, than playing. The exception was last week when I finished Halo 3 campaing mode.
I'm also involved in a Wii fans community in Chile: www.wiichile.com.
I've been reading Racketboy's blog for two years. Thank you Racketboy for the excellent information and for your time.
Best regards
JF

Hello.
30-year-old kid here...born, raised, and living in Pittsburgh.
Dislikes: my job and field in general - IT
Likes: videogames and sports (Steelers and Penguins)
I've become more of a collector over the past eight years due to working at a Babbage's a while back...and still have a lot of sealed N64, PS1, PS2, DC, XBOX and GAMECUBE games. I hate myself for it. I'd like to play some, but the older and lazier I get, I seem to be resorting to retro games - shmups and other 2D games for PS1, PS2, DC, XBLA and PSN. Easier to get into...
Somewhat surprisingly then...maybe - my favorite game of all time: Shadow of the Colossus. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time comes in a close second.
BTW, great site Racket!

Got to admit I had to go and look up what a Odyssey 2 was. Have you still got it?
PS, the Amstrad CPC was the best
Hello Curlypaul,
Hahaha.. Yeah right.. Amstrad CPC was better

I still have the original Odyssey 2 I got for xmas when I was a kid. I bought more games via EBay during last couple of years. Thank you for asking.
Best regards

Hello fellow racketeers~
(A little late but here it goes nothing)
So the name is Dave and I'm a 29 year old ronin and I'm currently in Japan.
Born in the USA but lived in many places over the world (over the years).
I cut my teeth on gaming on the Apple ][C (with a color monitor!) back in the day. Played PC games at friends' houses but really got hooked in the early 80's with the NES and arcade games like Ivan Ironman's Off-Road and Rampage etc.
I was a fool game collection-wise (now just a little less of a general fool) as a kid because I sold each system I had and all the games with it to get a new system. Sold the: NES to get a Genesis, Genesis to get a TG-16, TG-16 to get a TurboExpress, the TurboExpress to get a TurboDuo, TurboDuo to get a SNES. And that's where I stopped... I missed a lot of games so I bought back all my systems and games (NES, Genesis, TurboDuo/TG16/TurboExpress) that I had sold. From the SNES and on I haven't sold anything so I have quite the collection at this point.
These days, my once dwindleing passion for gaming has been set ablaze again by the DS and Wii. I got the DS when the Lite came out so there were already a good number of good games but I think I got the Wii a little too early (but my g/f and I are still having fun together with it).
Fav genres; Action, shooters (not FPSs - real shooters), 16-bit RPGs, racing, and I like to try anything odd and new.
Currently playing: DS - Zelda DS, Wii - Biohazzard 4 and Excite Truck, PS2 - GOW and Gradius V.
Other than gaming, I'm heavily into music, movies, and travelling.
Been reading this site for a few years too and finally thought about joining in on the fun.
Nice to meet y'all~
