For some reason, I just can't get fully into MotM. It's a fun game, but there are all these little things that infuriate me. For one, Vega and Billy Kane aren't playable. That wouldn't be too much of a problem, but they already made sprites for them. It just seems like a waste to make new sprites instead of using ones that are already there. Next is unlocking characters. After playing through arcade mode, you see a grid, which blocks are then removed from. Once all the blocks are gone, you unlock a character. What infuriates me is that instead of doing something reasonable and simply eliminating some of the blocks that are there, it picks random spaces. I've played through arcade mode with Capcom characters twenty times and I still don't have B.B. Hood. GIVE ME B. B. HOOD DANGIT!
Next, the minigames. While it was nice of the creators to include them, the SNK ones are just terrible. Blade Arts feels weird because you have to use the buttons to attack sideways but the joystick to attack up. It's confusing. Target 9, while fun, is the only time where I ever wished the NGPC had a D-Pad. The joystick is way too inaccurate.
I really want to like this game more, and while I love it, I just don't think it's nearly as good as everyone says.

Old thread, but I picked up a Marble Pocket Color on ebay this morning... the prices of games are so very reasonable, and I've seen a lot of games being sold in packs for cheap. Love the gaming on the go.

I was in Tokyo last weekend, and the store Traders had a nice selection of NGPC games. I always wanted to get CIB copies of Pac Man and Metal Slug 1st Mission, but those will have to wait for now. I didn't have much time to really look at the selection, but from seeing that and reading through this thread some more, I'm really tempted to get the link cable to the Dreamcast and exploring that connectivity. I haven't played my NGPC in at least a half a year.
SNK vs Capcom is pretty nice, but I think the Gals Fighters is better because it is faster and more intense.

A couple of months ago I found a NGPC at my local Goodwill in their electronics case. It's a see-through blue, and it came with Metal Slug 2nd Mission, all for $19.95. It started right up when I got batteries in it, but I had to track down one of the watch batteries for it so it wouldn't keep telling me that the backup was about to die, lol.
I was wondering two things though. First off, where's a good place to get games for the NGPC? I know I've looked them up on evilbay, but are there any other places, and what would be the going price for games?
Also, any suggestions for great games to look for? I know I'd like to get Metal Slug 1st Mission, but aside from that I'm not too familiar with any other games for the system.

I've bought some off of amazon. For a couple of bucks. But its gonna cost you more for shipping! Many of the games that came to the US, dont have the cardboard packaging. You're most likely to get just the game in its own plastic case.
So yeah, go check amazon.com!

Hit up the
Neo-Geo.com forums. While you'll find stuff here and there on any other retro gaming site, that place is pretty much ground zero if you're looking to buy Neo-Geo hardware.
They've got price guides for MVS, AES, and NGPC as well.

I bought an Ocean Blue one in box for 58 bucks yesterday. No games but it has barely ever been used. Suggestion on good cheap games? I would like to pick up 3 decent cheap games. I was hoping to get,a fighter, a metal slug game, and like a puzzle bobble game. Teach me guys!

Look for 4 game blister packs of games in cartridge only form. If you don't mind the lack of boxes, they're legit clearance stock, fairly cheap and with great games available. I got two seperate ones.
The first contained: SNK Gals Fighters, Sonic Pocket Adventure, Puzzle Link & Faselei!
The second included: Metal Slug 2nd Mission, Dark Arms: Beast Buster, Pocket Tennis Colour, SNK vs Capcom: Cardfighters Clash
Gals Fighters, Faselei and 2nd Mission I'd class as must haves for the system, and all of the other games there are of high quality too. Gals Fighters is one of the best fighting games on the system, 2nd Mission is the best Metal Slug game, and Puzzle Link is an enjoyable puzzle game too.
If you specifically want a Puzzle Bobble style game though, just go out and buy Puzzle Bobble Mini/Bust-a-Move Pocket, which is a Puzzle Bobble game for NGPC.

Is there a NGPC that's backlit?
