It's not like Oblivion, IMO. It's a lot more like Deus Ex.General_Norris wrote:I'm playing Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines. It's cool, very overrated though, it's not really different from Oblivion, just more talky and with more personality.
What RPG are you playing right now?

Oh, it's certainly different, there's no exploration, for example but it seems similar to me in concept. And I know of a couple of guys who would kill me for this but I still haven't played DEisiolia wrote:It's not like Oblivion, IMO. It's a lot more like Deus Ex.
Though to be frank, do you know what game it really reminds me of? Monkey Island. I'm not kidding, the games use the same plot structure and the same philosophy for dialogue trees. I know that many games mimic it, but VtMB is the first one where I have figured it on my own.

Just started the original Mass Effect... it jumps in really quick. I'm honestly not sure how well I did, and will be restarting tonight. I made it like 20 minutes in before I ran into issues.
I don't understand the leveling yet, and having to go into a menu to use my or my teammates abilities is somewhat odd. The equipment screen is confusing as sin also.

Ok, so I am nearing the end of Wild Arms 3. I'm currently in Chapter 4, with characters ranging from level 58 to 64. I've beaten a handful of the optional bosses, have completed all the Millennium Puzzles, have beaten a few Telepath Towers, and have a migrant level of 18. I can feel the game winding down though, as the fourth chapter just seems to rush by quickly towards the conclusion. Still, there's a handful of remaining sidequests and optional bosses to finish up, so I suppose it will still be a bit longer before I finish.

Heck yeah Wild Arms 3. That's one of my favorite RPGs on PS2.
One of my favorite things about that game is how you could really just ignore every random encounter after a point and get by on money and levels just on the bosses.

Re: What RPG are you playing right now?
I agree about it being enjoyable. As far as PS2 RPGs are concerned, I have enjoyed it a lot, though I must admit to liking the first Wild Arms a bit more. I have gotten a little further since I posted my progress this morning. Now my characters sit between level 67 and 72. It feels like now I can really only level from bosses, as common enemies give so little experience as to be negligible. But then, the items I sometimes pull off of them are vital for fueling the black market, and I need many element rings. I managed to jump five levels with everyone while fighting the Kraken, but that narrows my list of optional bosses even further. And I just finished the second demon tower, so I am very close to the end. I look forward to completing this game.

I can't decide which rpg to play on my 3ds. Dragon Quest 4, 6, 9, or Tales of the Abyss. I much prefer turn based rpgs for the record which is why I have never played Tales. Spin the wheel for me guys! Also check out the Tale Spin in there haha.
Re: What RPG are you playing right now?
Were all the PS2 Wild Arms pretty good? Wasn't one of them a remake of the original or something? I really need to get to the first two someday. I watched a friend play a lot of them though years ago, they looked awesome.
