While at a gun show I saw a kid who couldn't have been older than sixteen purchase a cheap pistol. He was sweating bullets (ho ho), but he really was sweating profusely, his feet were shaking, and basically looked like the personification of nervous. To say he was paranoid would also be an understatement as the kid's head was like an oscillating fan as he kept looking left and right.

It could have not been more obvious that the kid wasn't old enough to get a side arm, but sure enough he walked out with a 9mm.

I wanted to take action, but zero cops. Thousands of guns, hundreds of people walking around with guns, and I couldn't find a single officer to say "something shady is afoot at counter 83".

Of course I wouldn't use those words...maybe I would, but either way it would have been nice to have a police presence at a gun show. And in the end, the kid wanted a gun and if he didn't get one at the show, he would have found another way to get one.

As usual I don't really have a point other than it is way too late for gun control. It can't happen. The supply is already out there, and the demand continues to be high. And there is surplus, nay, a plethora of guns floating around. Gun control is only a dream.

There's a lot of interesting perception studies. I can't find a source but I remember reading that people in general can tell if a person is smarter than them, but have trouble ranking which of two people is smarter if both are smarter than the ranker.

Weird, I've never been to a gun show that isn't full of cops. I don't doubt that there are a decent amount without them though. Scary, in a way, especially in cases such as the one you saw.

That explains quite a bit.

What else can you feel but sadness for this huge loss in innocent lives and total scorn for the scum that killed them? More than 90 dead in the Ankara peace rally attack today.

Their dictator has really lost control. That's what happens when you can think you can play with so much fire to win an election.

This child asked the medics not to bury him, yet he died anyway. Through no fault of his own, he was collateral damage. This world we live can be a terrible place.

Wow, Netanyahu now claims Hitler didn't want to gas the Jews, but was "convinced" by a Palestinian cleric. Fuhrer of the Aryan race, who didn't listen to his top brass and survived several assassination attempts by those who served under him, was "convinced" by an Arab of islamic persuation. This Netan guy is scum.

Sadly, I'm not surprised at all.

This conflict will only get worse as time goes by, and a lot of time has passed if we're talking human civilisation-wise. Everyone's trying to outbreed one another, there will be more landgrabs to house all those people, less space for the Arabs, more direct clash points, even more checkpoints (more than 600 in the West Bank alone iirc), individual and group attacks against civilians and soldiers alike, fighting over water resources.. What a mess, and it seems the two-state solution is out the proverbial window.
