I picked up the same volleyball game recently.
Volleyball games are usually fun, but this one in particular looks... eh.

Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
I have it as well. I also paid $1 for it. Interestingly, however, it is one of the few games based on women's sports, and it inspired me to obtain the rest of them. So far, I have:the7k wrote:I picked up the same volleyball game recently.

Beach Spikers (GC)
Jennifer Capriati Tennis (GENESIS)
Mia Hamm Soccer (GBC)
Mia Hamm Soccer (N64)
Women's Volleyball Championship (PS2)
I still need:
Sega Sports Tennis a/k/a Tennis 2K2 a/k/a Virtua Tennis 2 (DC/PS2)
WTA Tour Tennis (GBA)
WTA Tour Tennis (PS2/XBOX)
Not counting subsequent games in the Virtua Tennis series, am I missing any?
.....
Also, I had a pretty good day at Gamestop and the pawn shops. I got:
Alien Isolation (PS3/CIB) - $10
Blazblue Contiuum Shift Extend - $10
Heavy Rain (PS3; CIB) - $10
John Daly's ProStroke Gofl (PS3; CIB) - $4
Prototype (PS3; CIB) - $5
Top Gun: Wingman Edition (PS3; CIB) - $10
Wolfenstein: The New Order (PS3; CIB) - $10
I am particularly excited aboutTop Gun because it includes a high-definition version of the film, and although I am not a tremendous fan of FPS games, I may strat up Wolfenstein pretty soon.

Summer Heat Volleyball on PS2 is decent. Beach Spikers is still the best. And there's DOA Volleyball of course...

Yeah...I am not including games where, in Wikipedia's terms, "there is an emphasis on the sex appeal of the bikini-clad female characters" such as Dead or Alive Xtreme, Rumble Roses, or Summer Heat Beach Volleyball. (I do have the Rumble Roses games, however, because...uh...I found both of them for less than $5 and...uh...read that they are legit fighting games.noiseredux wrote:Summer Heat Volleyball on PS2 is decent. Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
DOA Xtreme games are, at heart, probably more akin to a dating game collectathon - more or less, each character has their own unique assortment of outfits, which can be gifted to other characters. In order for them to accept the gift, the other character needs to like the one you're playing as (and in the case of the skimpy suits, most need to really really really like you, or they'll trash it).
Outside of managing to team up with them and winning, that can be accomplished by sending them gifts according to their listed likes (foods, hobbies, colors, etc), or wearing things they send you.
Beach Volleyball is the most rounded, most forgiving, but most time-consuming daytime activity. However, if it's all you do, you won't really get anywhere in the larger "game", such as it is.
Regardless, probably fair not really counting them as sports titles, even just on the basis of general game structure.

I find the lack of game-related merchandise at Sears and Kmart to be quite sad
I mean, I know they're purging the sections, but it's still disheartening, even if I'm finding some decent things that are getting clearanced out.
Sears
DS/3DS game cases (3 packs of 2) x3 - $0.97 each
Xbox 360 (What? I'll get one eventually) Play and Charge Kit - $5
----------------------
~ $8
Kmart
Disney Infinity Lone Ranger Set - $20
Disney Infinity Cars Set - $14
Disney Infinity Power Capsule - $5
- $11 in points
--------------------
~ $28
I shall miss these sections when they're completely gone

Managed to find a Sonic amiibo at Best Buy, and a boxed Xexyz showed up at a local store for the low price of $10 so I couldn't resist
There's a small hole in the front but I can deal with it.

Trying to get as many Volleyball games as I can get. So far, I got:
DoA Beach Volleyball (Xbox)
Outlaw Volleyball (Xbox)
Spiker! Super Pro Volleyball (Intellivision)
Beach Spikers (GCN)
Women's Volleyball Championship (PS2)
Definitely looking to get Summer Heat, and others on my hit list are Sanrio Cup (Famicom), Popeye: Beach Volleyball (Game Gear) and Super Spike V'Ball (NES).
I've got DOAX2 for X360, but good lord the volleyball sucks in that game - as well as pretty much everything else. Pure kusoge.
Anyway, my latest big pick up was this:

Once you go plastic, wood's just for spastics.

Bask in the glory of a Big Red! BASK IN IT!
Joking aside, nice score. I will eventually want to pick up a candy or two, but I have such nostalgia for the wood cabs and standing up, I couldn't get a Neo Candy over a Big Red.
Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!
