I ordered a copy Street Racer for the SNES earlier this week. My package arrived last night, and I opened it to discover I had accidentally been sent Speed Racer instead. I contacted the seller and told him I understood the mix up, but I still really want Street Racer(and it's worth about $5 more, which would be another cheap SNES game with shipping). I hope this gets resolved quickly.

Good luck! I picked up a copy of that game (i.e., Street Racer) the other day. If, after it arrives, you are thinking about playing through it, let me know. I would be happy to give it a try at the same time so that we can compare notes.

Sure thing! I'll keep you posted on what's happening. If everything falls apart and I don't end up getting the game now, I'll still likely seek it out before the end of the year.

I've had that happen a few times.

When I purchased Ys Book I & II from an Amazon seller I got Ys: The Vanished Omens instead.

When I purchased Kendo Rage from another seller I got..... Batman Returns.

Since last night, I have fallen in love with the style of the Panasonic CQ-VX5500.

My god, that's gorgeous. I think it's out of my price range at the moment. I'll have to save up for this one. Just look at those analog VUs! Have you ever seen a car stereo with analog VUs before?

This does have one feature that few folks outside Japan ever need -- Minidisc player. Other than that, there's no USB port, no MP3 player, no Bluetooth, no Pandora, no SirriusXM, no GPS, no other gimmicks.
Man I want one for my house. Actually they have an upgrade as the CQ-TX5500D which has a vac tube in it:

Ok, I get the possibility of screwing up the Ys, but...wow. Kendo Rage and Batman Returns. That is...that is pretty special right there.

I saw that. Looks pricey. I don't normally mess around with Vacuum tubes. They were before my time, and it seems like a lot of trouble to hunt down replacement tubes. I was reading something online that asserts the vacuum tube on the CQ-TX5500D was mainly cosmetic and has little to do with the internal function of the device.

I found a couple in the $600 range shipped - which is pricey. It would make sense that the tube was cosmetic, since they are alittle too fragile for use in a vehicle. If you ever want to play with tubes go with a headphone preamp. They go for sub $100 and you can get a feeling for what tubes do to sound. If you are interested I recommend the Muse 6N11. It is no where near as good as a fullfledge amp, but it processes the audio different enough to get the point across.

Granted my car has a tapedeck that doesnt work so I use an FM transmitter...

Well fart. That sucks all kinds of suck Adam. You don't really seem to have a paddle do you? So sorry to hear.

On a brighter note, I just got home from a local pharmacy, where I heard a conversation that seemed straight out of San Adreas.

Two senior citizens, talking all kinds of senior citizeny. None of it made snese, yet I remember every word.

Gal: You need to meet my granddaughter. She's an angel.

Guy: Well I done wrecked my motor scooter.

Gal: You got gout?

Guy: No. I want orthopedic shoes though.

Gal: Vitamins fix you right up.

Guy: K&W's chicken got me thinking bout that.

Gal: I'mma sit down for now.

Guy: Be nice.

And that was it. On top of how bizarre that was, they didn't even look at each other when they spoke. Both just stared at their feet the entire time. Creeped me out.
