I really can't stand the cars with the startup buttons. Yikes.

One of my friend's cars has this. I tried a couple of weeks ago when we were having a party to take her car to the store for a quick propane pickup. I kept pushing the button, but it wouldn't come on. I was all "WTF?" until I realized you have to push the brake down at the same time.

Don't you have to do that with every car? (at least I do it in my '03 civic anyways)

There's actually a decent amount of vehicles that you don't have to hold the break to start. My car and truck don't need you to.

My Subaru doesn't require the brake to start (key ignition). Now to get out of park, that requires you to push the brake. In fact, the only cars I've ever drove that required the brake to start was rentals with the push button.

Well my car is one of those odd birds, you either have to press the brake or press the break and turn the wheel  I think I've gotten so used to it that I assume most other cards are like it

For those of us that row our own, you've had to hold the clutch down when starting for at least 20 years.

Also, it is "Brake", people. Not "Break. :P

Yeah, the only time I've ever had to hold a pedal down to merely start the car is with manual vehicles and the clutch. Otherwise, it's turn the key, and Bob's your uncle.
