is there a trick to timing the buttons or is it all the same? a lot of the time i follow the moves combos but nothing happens, it seems to happen at intermittent times. The easier ones always work like A+B or → → X

Since Spirit Tracks is not really liked in most places, may I ask what the flaws are? I still have quite a bit to do in the game (beaten the snow realm), but aside from the terrible use of the microphone, and maybe the possessed trains being annoying because all they accomplish is making your path longer since you gotta do detours, or wait for them before continuing your path, I'm not seeing what's so bad about this.

Could it be the lack of exploration because everything is confined to hubs and railroad tracks? I actually feel like the train tracks makes the world still feels large in scope simply by traveling across from it. They also find a way to make more entertaining than they did in phantom hourglass, specifically finding lost bunnies which I think is a cool idea.

Not sure where the best area would be to post about this, so just throwing it in the Random Gaming Thoughts this thread. But Nick, the founder of RB was recently interviewed on the DrunkFriends podcast. I like to check this podcast which focuses on retro games, so it was great to see Nick was a guest.

In case anyone else is interested in listening, the episode can be found here:

And thanks to Nick for all his hard work on RB over the years and keeping the site and community alive! It's appreciated.

My Xbox One died. To add insult to injury, this happened a few days after buying a couple of games to try out. After all the trouble I've had out of the Xbox family of systems I'm probably going to sell what games I have and leave it at that.

Waiting on the smaller Everdrive for the GBA to use on the micro before I do one of those simple “I think *blank* is interesting” posts. I already have the original one in there but I wanna have a cart specifically for the micro. Do a little weight test. It makes more sense in my head.

Also I want to gather my thoughts on my Nvidia Shield 2017 for another post.
I own too many hoodies jackets hoodies and DS games and I’m not ashamed!

Move over Smash Bros.

In all honesty this type of game is perfect for kids and I would have loved it back as a kid too.

Is nickelodeon even still popular? Even Sponge Bob ended like 10 years ago. Ninja Turtles is so early 90's.

I always had hope some game would come and destroy Mario Kart's dominance, I had high hopes for ModNation but it seems it got buried like it never even existed. Something like Looney Tunes or Wacky Races based game will surely give some serious competition to Mario Kart, its a wonder why no one picked up on it. I know there is one for the Dreamcast I believe.
