If it doesn't make a difference to you if you quit, are forced to quite or are fired, then why not report it? People are more likely to report things once others already have.

He already expressed that he’s worried if he’s the only one who reports it his cause for being disabled may result in it being dismissed outright. He wants that support, even if anonymous, from other employees so the claim is taken seriously.

I'm pretty sure they can't (legally) dismiss something like this just because a person is disabled. But at that point, you'd have to report it outside of the company. It depends how big of stink you want to make about it. I don't think anyone would blame you for just walking away.

But my point is, once one person speaks out about something then other people feel more comfortable speaking out.

He got rid of all lunch breaks (illegal) and food for us (not illegal, but unethical since it includes food getting thrown out), and is trying to make the workplace as miserable as possible in response to someone making the initial anonymous letter. I do digress, but isn't that literally the most suspicious thing you could do aside from confessing? The letter didn't name anyone, and his response is to lash out on his staff.

I don't care what happens to me, but I want to ensure that the other employees don't go through anything even worse. If I'm going to report him, I want it to pretty much be a guarantee that he will be fired. If he only gets suspended, or written, wtf is he gonna do to the staff after that?

EDIT: And yea, this reasoning would apply to people potentially brushing off my claim. Plus if more step in it'll help make the claims more effective and look even more truthful.

I mean, you'll have to use your best judgement. I don't know the full situation. Have you considered making a complaint to the Department of Labor? Or whatever it's called in Canada.

I agree, it sounds like this deserves a call to the Ministry of Labor. They have officers doing random unannounced checks for violations. I've seen them inspecting some larger jobsites I worked at, tho more often we see WCB representatives looking for dangerous conditions as I work in construction.

Yea we do have the Ministry of Labour here. Either them or the president of the company were my options.

Thanks.for everything so far guys, difficult situation so trying to find the best solution for it is tough.

I would say don't be quite about it, the more people are quite about things the more corruption spreads. Make sure that laws are enforced and let everyone in society know very well they will not go away with it.

I have a beat up scratched bootlegged DVD of some old show. I put it in ps3 can't read it. I put it in (I think) laptop dvd drive, maybe it can see choppy playback. I put it in an old Panasonic portable dvd player I found in storage that probably has not been turned on in a near decade, plays as smooth as shiny BD disc just pressed. Any theories?

And no its not because DRM protection.

Your Panasonic portable DVD player is in better condition than your PS3 and laptop drive.
