Re: Playstation Vita thread
Yeah. I've put like 10 minutes into the PS4 version because either my roommate is using the TV (it is his so can't really complain) or I'm busy when he's not around.
Glad to hear it's only an issue to only have a US account if you want DLC! There are tons of Vita games I wanted to import but I didn't want to bother making foreign accounts.

Older. Not wiser.

I managed to snag one of the last regular copies of htoL#NiQ: The Firefly Diary before they sold out. This game looks really interesting.
I wish I had heard about it while the limited edition was still available.

Re: Playstation Vita thread
Alright, it released stateside yesterday, so who bought?
Personally I'm going to hold off and track the price. I'd buy this for $20, but $40 is a bit much based on reviews I've read. This one being the most informative.

Meanwhile, here's some upcoming USA release Vita stuff we diehards can look forward to:

So sick of the flood of Japanese shit and indie games. I enjoy both things to an extent, but I also like more Western/mainstream titles too. I feel like there haven't been any of note since Borderlands 2
It's a shame, because there's a solid list of those titles across more diverse genres for the first couple years of the system...then nothing.

I miss it too. The Vita started out stronger in terms of variety. I think the Lego video games, roster updated Fifa, and maybe a Telltale game or two (physical) will be the only western/mainstream titles the Vita will receive.dsheinem wrote:So sick of the flood of Japanese shit and indie games. Edit: I forgot about RE: Revelations 2, so there's that. The only reason we are getting it is because Sony is footing the bill for a port similar to Borderlands 2. I'm ok with Sony doing this but we need more of it. The problem is there probably isn't enough of a market to justify doing it.

Re: Playstation Vita thread
I'd like to see more high budget Western games on the Vita as well, but that day is over. Personally I'd rather play the Western indie games on PC rather than Vita, so that only leaves the Japanese niche games to look forward to (speaking personally here). I love the Vita and I love Japanese niche games and all that, but I am sad to say I don't think we'll ever see a Vita game that utilizes every last drop of power the system has. Not the way say Final Fantasy Type-0 did for the PSP for example. Or if that game is ever made, it probably wouldn't leave Japan.dsheinem wrote:So sick of the flood of Japanese shit and indie games.
Anyway, is it safe to assume Sony is done with the handheld market now?
I had read that Capcom dropped it for Vita? At least I'm not seeing it listed currently as a platform on Amazon:FerretGamer wrote:Edit: I forgot about RE: Revelations 2, so there's that.
I hope it does come to Vita yes, but I only see PS4, Xbox One, PS3, and 360 right now.

What exactly is Hyperdimension Noire? Is it a JRPG like the others, or is it a spin off like U?Exhuminator wrote:Meanwhile, here's some upcoming USA release Vita stuff we diehards can look forward to:

Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters has my interest, but I've not heard a lot about it.
I've never heard of Operatio Abyss. What is it?
Also, tell me more about Toukiden? Is it a Monster Hunter type game and is it any good?

Re: Playstation Vita thread
It is not a JRPG, but rather an SRPG, and it stars Noire. It is a spinoff Vita exclusive, not a remake like the Rebirth series.alienjesus wrote:What exactly is Hyperdimension Noire?
From the studio that made Demon Gaze comes Operation Abyss: New Tokyo Legacy, a sci-fi dungeon crawler RPG set in a near future Tokyo. With the city under the constant threat of Variants—genetically engineered monsters—and the emergence of portals leading to a mysterious dimension called the Abyss, the government has established the Code Physics Agency to investigate these mysterious phenomena. The Xth Squad—a unique group of teens modified by the CPA's Code technology—must evade traps, face down powerful monsters, and investigate the mystery behind the Abyss. -From GameFAQsI've never heard of Operatio Abyss. Reply hazy. From what I have read, Toukiden: Kiwami is the sequel to the original Toukiden, picking up where the original game left off. I've read conflicting reports saying that Kiwami includes the original game as well as the new content. Also, tell me more about Toukiden? Is it a Monster Hunter type game and is it any good?
