I was considering putting this in the GameStop thread, but whatever...
Sonic and the Black Knight: $8.99
Zombi U: $13.49
I went to buy both used from GameStop. When at the counter, the employee said he had a sealed Zombi U and would "hook me up with that." So, I got a brand new copy for the used price!

With their site saying it's unavailable new, it's probably the case of the SKU being deleted, and any remaining stock converted over to the used one.Ziggy587 wrote: I went to buy both used from GameStop. (still nice that he made a point to give a sealed one to you)
Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
It's been a very dry couple of weeks around here, but the last few days have provided me with a couple of goodies.
Kmart

Went to a store out of town and walked away with these. The prices say $24 and $21, but those stickers must have been old, because it rang up as $27 for the both of them. Hurray for clearance priced goodness.

Guides - $1.50 each
Plok, Fatal Fury 2 and Lethal Weapon - $1 each
2 SNES + 1 NES controller - $1 each
Went to a thrift store that usually has nil in the gaming selection. I'm pretty sure one of the younger workers there also collects, so I was surprised to find these. He either didn't want them or hadn't gotten to them yet. Either way, yay for me.

Zelda Collection, Ghostbusters and NBA Ballers - $1.50 each
Mario Galaxy Soundtrack - $0.40
Even my favorite thrift store has been dry for a while now, but low and behold, the day of my birthday, these showed up in the DVD/CD section. All CIB, too. What a nice gift to get myself
Normally I would have passed up on the sports game, but it came complete with the soundtrack and, in case you don't already know, I'm a sucker for extra goodies, so home with me it came.
This past weekend also ended up being pretty nice when these showed up as well:

PC games: $1 each
Return of the King
Jedi Knight Academy
Jedi Knlight Academy II
Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II
Crusin' USA: $1
Snowboard Kids: $4.26
All the PC games look to be nice and complete, if not covered in stickers (where's my blow dryer...) and the N64 games are all nice and clean.
Snowboard Kids was picked up at Goodwill, believe it or not. They've started pricing their games higher lately (even the crappy PC games were tagged at $6+), but this one seems to have slipped through the cracks. One more N64 game to knock off my list.
Last but not least, I found this lot at another thrift store:

Sega Pico + 5 (kinda) games - $5
Magic Crayons
101 Dalmations
Lion King
Sesame Street Alphabet Adventure
Winnie the Pooh
I'd never even heard of this thing before joining this site, so it took me a few seconds after seeing it to realize what the hell I was looking at. The games were in a cardboard box and the machine was...a few feet away, under a table, because I guess someone didn't feel like taking the extra effort to move it the 3 feet back to where it came from.
From what I can tell, it's the second model and has its original power adapter and...well, I'm not sure if it's the original AV cord, but the thing works, so what do I care. The boxes, if you can't tell, are in less than favorable condition, but they are there and they are (relatively) whole, so I consider it a plus.
It's a curious little system and a neat little addition to my continually growing pile of stuff.

Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
Yes, I just realized this. It has a factory seal, but a "used" sticker over the SKU. But yeah, nice of him to give me the new one (I guess that's what he meant by "hook me up") instead of the used copy. He was also nice enough to check the Sonic disc before giving it to me. He was just one of the better GameStop employees that you get.isiolia wrote:With their site saying it's unavailable new, it's probably the case of the SKU being deleted, and any remaining stock converted over to the used one.Ziggy587 wrote: I went to buy both used from GameStop. I know you were excited to get that, but you could have cleaned up and put the TP away first.

Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
Michi,
That Zelda collection for $1.50 is a great find. That one is worth some dollars. Way to go!
I have a Sega Pico too. It's a neat little curiosity, but there's practically nothing I can do with it. I've looked at the library; there's not one single game an adult would want to play. Do you have pre-schoolers? They might enjoy it.

Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
I was really surprised to see that Zelda game (and with it's booklet too!) Gamecube games are an uncommon occurrence around here as is, so I was quite stoked. It's a duplicate for me, so I'm planning on taking it into one of the local shops and using it towards a couple PS1 games I had my eye on (assuming they're still there.)samsonlonghair wrote:Michi,

The Pico I picked up purely for the novelty factor. It's just a cheap, interesting little oddity. And while I don't have any kids of my own, a lot of my friends do. So now on the off chance they bring the little buggers over I'll have something to throw at them that they (maybe) won't destroy
On a side note, I just saw another Pico today while walking around another thrift store (No, I didn't get it). This one had the Sega logo on it, so I'll assume that's the first model. So, now I've spotted two Picos in two days after not seeing one in the last five years. Weird.
