Re: What are you playing?
Started playing Planet Explorers, as it helps provide my fix for No Mans' Sky when it finally comes out. The game is a open world, voxel based exploration/world creation game, similar to Minecraft, but with a great 1970's sci-fi feel with the creatures and world.
There is a single-player storyline you can do, which is where I have started and things are moving slowly, as I haven't gotten into the core mechanics of the game yet. There are also a freestyle adventure mode and on-line mode which I think would be great to play with some other people.
You can also customize and create vehicles from scratch, creating road and air vehicles that look like a blast. Can't wait to see what else is in store.

Right now I'm pitted in combat with Prince of Persia Sands of time, Phantasy Star IV, and Final Fantasy II. I'm only stuck on a part about halfway through PoP

Well I just got my laptop for school and I've been installing games from steam that I can play on it. Risk of Rain is such a great pick up and play game to kill some time with.

Yea I've never really made all that much progress in the game before but I'm on the last level now with the starting character, commando I think. I'm just playing on easy though so I can try to unlock more stuff.DannyMcGee wrote:Ah, nice, Risk of Rain is a really fun game. Super Luigi Bros. U. I have had this game sitting on my WiiU HD for months now. Finally fired it up.
Holy wow, this game is absolutely amazing. It's the Mario Bros game I always wanted Nintendo to make. The short levels? Perfect! I'm actually taking the time to collect all the star coins, something I never bothered with in the original Super Mario Bros U.

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Re: What are you playing?
Lets see.
I played a bit of Doom 3. I was trying to get sikkmod to work in widescreen but couldn't. Perhaps because I'm using the Mac version? Still, started the game with one of the ducttape mods that gives you a flashlight strapped to every weapon. Makes the game a lot more enjoyable even from the beginning.
I'm slowly but surely making my way through XCOM:EU and Rogue Legacy. I feel like I didn't give Rogue Legacy a chance at first because it's certainly an A class game and I certainly am enjoying it now. Also the theme song is amazing.
XCOM is going well. I'm playing on Normal - Ironman mode and so I'm making sure to take my time. It's easily one of my favorite strategy games but I have to take it in small spurts because I find the game is actually stressful. 8 hours into a game, I really don't want to screw it up considering I can't exactly load an earlier save.
Persona 4 is on hold for the moment. I think I'll pick it up again closer to Winter when my indoor time is increased (as is my desire to lay in bed playing Vita). It's a great game but because it's so long I'm just trying to take my time with it. I don't think it would really make sense for me to burn out on it by trying to beat it in the next month.

I've been playing the fan translation of the SFC game Marvelous. And you know what? The game lives up to that name. Totally unique adventure title built on the Zelda III engine. It's pretty damned great guys.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.

Baha. I read your blog and saw this line: "I won't say what it is yet, but let's just say it's marvelous indeed." I should have known. How is the language barrier?Exhuminator wrote:I've been playing the fan translation of the SFC game Marvelous. And you know what? The game lives up to that name. Also, I bookmarked your blog. The post on having time for gaming as an adult was really informative and interesting.
