Ok, so I played a small chunk of Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon yesterday. More games need to start with helicopter raids involving mini guns while Little Richard belts out classics like Long Tall Sally. After an initial setup which rips into modern video game tutorials and throws around neon like a mother, I eventually got to the game proper, which is pretty much a more streamlined Far Cry 3 but with way more of me giving the finger to pretty much everybody. More games need a way to give enemies the finger. I'm probably pretty early in the story, as I have to hit up a dam right now, but I've freed up bases on about a fourth of the island at this point.
I really hope this game doesn't pull a San Andreas and erase all of my progress in freeing up the map. That was pretty annoying when that happened and then I had to go reconquer everything. I'm more than good enough at putting bullets into suckers' faces, but it does get a little annoying.
What single player FPS campaign are you playing?
Re: What single player FPS campaign are you playing?
Dude, I think the dam was near the end. You might be close to beating it.
It was an expansion pack/DLC-esque thing tacked onto Far Cry 3 and is pretty short in comparison. I guess the irony is that people claim Far Cry Primal which was full price is only a little bigger than Blood Dragon.
I liked how in Far Cry 4 you could replay the outposts. That's my favorite thing in these.

Seriously? I feel like I just got started! Dang...

I mean I could be wrong, but when you said dam... that always comes to mind as one of the coolest and bigger levels that I still remember. Maybe there's a few more, but overall I think it was like 5 hours long.
It did really well and I'm surprised they didn't go ahead with a full blown sequel that was bigger in scale. I would have been all over that.

The dam is a little over halfway through, IIRC. Such a sweet ass game. I want a full-length one, too.

You've seen the Jack Abramoff-produced masterpiece Red Scorpion, right? Just want to make sure you appreciate the game's reference to that classic(?) of action cinema.Ack wrote:Long Tall Sally

Yes, though it's been a long, long time(like over 20 years ago). It's time to watch it again.prfsnl_gmr wrote:You've seen the Jack Abramoff-produced masterpiece Red Scorpion, right? ...and when you've seen some of what I've seen, no questions, it's a classic.

Well, I've made it through Blood Dragon and posted my thoughts. Maybe it's time I go back to a Warhammer strategy game.

Hey guys, I was thinking about snagging Killing Time on GOG. Any of you folks ever play it? What were your thoughts?

Trucked ahead a little more in Singularity yesterday. Fought a giant train-eating monster and killed it with a mini-gun, and got a good handful of the rest of the achievements for "kill X many dudes with Y method." I also found the funny Metroid easter egg and got the achievement for that (kind of a weird game for a Metroid easter egg, but whatever)! Only one more easter egg and another method or two to follow before it's just run forward and shoot man wif gun
I'm not usually THAT into achievments, but it gives me something to base my normal playthrough around aside from the normal. I don't go too out of my way to get them, but it spices up a normal playthrough. For example, the one for getting 20 kills with that terrible pistol nearly got me killed more than once Xp
