This is a side-scrolling mech-filled action-RPG. It is absolutely incredible. Airtight gameplay, mindblowing graphics, killer OST, the works. I highly, highly recommend it. Probably my favorite SNES (or SFC rather) game of all time. Everyone should play this.

It's available in full English: https://agtp.romhack.net/project.php?id=fmgh

(Disclaimer: I am a mech loving nerd.)

I haven't played that one! I've seen the name in lists before, but assumed it was an SRPG. Looks more akin to the Leynos games, which I am definitely into. I'll have to give it a try!

Yes it plays very much like Assault Suits Valken and the like, but there's more depth (various RPG aspects) and it's a lot longer than a Leynos game.

A lot of people unfortunately skip over Gun Hazard, because they see "Front Mission" and think it's another turn based SRPG. Actually Front Mission has three real time action games IIRC. Besides Gun Hazard (side scrolling action), there's Evolved (third person shooter), and also Front Mission Alternative (real time strategy).

As it says in the ending text on Normal, Hard difficulty really is the greatest Contra 3 challenge. It's the only way I play it anymore. Good luck with that!

Gun Hazard's been in the back of my mind lately Ex, though I've been in the mood for the quick games lately.

Ahhh yeah babe. One of the best. 8)

FFIV Chronicles was my intro to that game, freaking loved it. I think I've beaten the SNES version at least once since I have a cart, but yeah I guess I'm not too sure about the difficulty. It's easy to confirm that the GBA/PSP versions are much easier though, since they have an ATB bug that lets you get in more turns than the enemies. The PSP version was really cool though, I loved the face lift. I recommend it if you're a big fan. I still don't have any interest in the 3D DS version though.

Just because I beat it yesterday and if you're doing emulation, if you want a cool easy cute em' up you should hit up Marchen Adventure Cotton 100%! I loved the graphics.

Not being able to play Hard Corps had me reaching for Contra III. I am absolutely convinced that it is harder on Hard difficulty than Hard Corps. Bullets are so blasted fast that unless you know where the threat is going to come from, you're probably already dead.

Don't forget Level 5 gets a LOT harder to move around because using L to lock your position on the spinning sand does NOT work as well on Hard difficulty.

Also, the boss there!

Yeah, Contra 3 on Hard is insane.

What I really like about it is that it does so much more than just quicker, more frequent bullets. Tons of enemy behavior has changed completely. The first time I got to Stage 2, I couldn't figure out how to get the bastards out of their bunkers!

Its becoming a bit more manageable with the dual-wield glitch, but I think I'm gonna be at this for a long while.

Cotton 100% is sweet. I've mostly been messing around with US hardware right now, but its definitely a lovely game I'm always happy to jump in on. Cotton Boomerang and Cotton 2 on the Saturn are very fun too!

I feel guilty saying this but I haven't touched my snes or everdrive in a long time. I think maybe tomorrow on my day off I'll play some.
I haven't been on this thread in a while or checked on prices on snes and games. Is it still up there in price on games or is it slowing down and dropping

I'm not the most savvy on prices (I tend to just snap it up if its worthy of a space on the shelf, extreme cases like US Hagane aside), but I would take a guess that they would fall into the range of "Still up there"
