My last date was 1/30, so it's been 6.5 months, and I had precisely zero plans today, so it's as good of a day as any for it... but still, any time it happens it kinda sucks. I ALMOST got sprung early (like... nowish) because one of our regular OT whores saw the page and called up going "I'll come in!!"... but forgot he's already coming in at 1200, so that wouldn't help me at all.
Make the best of a bad situation -- I texted a couple friends who work the evening shift, and my favorite (the work wife as I so affectionately refer to) has said "If no one takes it, I'll come in early for you"... but she was going back to sleep for a couple hours, considering this was at 0800 and I was talking to her last night until she went to sleep at 0200.
So I'm likely going to get out at 1200 or so... maybe 1400. Probably more like 1200. Forced OT sucks, but money's good! Alwaaays look on the briiiiight side of life, do-doot, do-doot do-do-do-doo-doot!
Ticked - Tanker truck blew up and took out two bridges on my drive to work (old bridge and its replacement), making my normal 45 minute to an hour drive two hours. No big deal today, but the interstate will be closed for atleast the weekend for all traffic, then an estimated week for debris clearing, then an additional six months of construction. The DOT said "do not travel this way on the interstate" not even a caveat for trucking. So what does my boss say when I bring this up to him, "Better get up earlier." You know what Ill get up earlier and start sending out resumes. I have a job where I can work from home just aswell as I do in the office, and we have the technology for it. But since our VP has a stick up his ass, I cant.
Smile - My wife is working from home today, her company gets it.

Do you live in a Hollywood movie?

If I did, I would want it to be Harvey.
Honestly, I hate to bitch about it since the driver lost his life, but man it sucks.
: After mowing 1.5 acres of lawn for the second time this week with a none self propelled push mower my dad started moaning and groaning and not to subtly hinting that me and my brother don't do enough around the house. That is with me doing 5+ loads of laundry a week, cooking dinner every night, washing dishes by hand every night(because my dad improperly installed the dish washer oh... 6 years ago and has never gotten back to it), buying the groceries, vacuuming and dusting the house, and cleaning up 4 bathrooms porcelain thrones and all every week, and pretty much a little bit of everything else you can imagine. Best part is he started bitching after taking half a work day off to ride his motor cycle around .
Needless to say I completely understand why my mother got a job an hour down the road and lives up there through the week. If it weren't for my little brother getting stuck her with my dad I would be gone as well.

You sound like a grown up home owner.
Smile: Don't get me wrong, I love being with friends over the weekend...but, they're all out of town, and my wife plans on watching a Jane Austen series. So that means I'll have time to play some video games.
