What was the last movie you've seen?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I've got a pile of over 20 VHS and DVDs to pick through.

My body is ready.

Ooh...should we begin sharing samples, or let it all be a surprise?

I'm still not sure about all the ones I'll get to, but don't mind sharing a couple that I know I'm going to do.

The first one is CHUD, which I believe you already did a year or two ago. Then there's Blood Salvage, which is some sort of horror/comedy mash-up. It looks to be awful (I hope the VHS tape plays :P ). And then there's a sequel to a movie I did a couple years ago that I happened to find at a local book sale, Unnamable II.

I was also thinking about going through the rest of the Puppet Master movies, since I noticed the 9-film collection is less than $5 at Walmart. But then, I don't know if I want to put my psyche through that

Michi, track down CHUD 2 while you're at it. Trust me, CHUD is ok, CHUD 2 is ridiculous.

As for me, no Halloween III this year. Instead I'm watching Halloween 4 and Halloween 5. Why? Because I have a pretty big gap that goes from Halloween 3 to the Rob Zombie remake, with only a stop off at H20. It's a series that for some reason I let slip by the wayside. Time I get back on that.

I'm also looking at the Exorcist series after the first, Poltergeist II, Leprechaun 2 and 3, and a bunch of Puppet Masters and later Hellraisers because I'm stupid enough to venture beyond Hellraiser 2.

Oh, and then I have the complete collection of Ringu films. Once I get through those, I need to start tracking down all of the various Ju-On films I have not seen so I can finally get to the JHorror schlock fest that is Sadako vs. Kayako. That's right, there's a Japanese ghost girl version of Freddy vs. Jason. The future is awesome.

Oh my god that sounds wonderful.

(btw I hate that "Ringu" is legit the official western name for the franchise. Yeah the american movies are a thing but.... ringu?)

I don't actually think it's legit, I just need a way to differentiate between it and the American one, because I think it's way more insulting to be tied to the US Ring 2. That movie was an offense against our species.

Is Dark Water somehow connected? That popped up on Prime and I added it to my watchlist, looks potentially good.

Same here, but I think H20 was enough for me to be done. I even hated that one and I don't find 2 to be that great either. Halloween lacks the charm of Friday the 13th or or Nightmare on Elm Street and Myers doesn't have any personality over those two villains nor do they have a noteworthy composer that I recall (the whole Friday series has some damn good music).

Wait, looking at my letterboxd list I do have Halloween 4 on there. Guess I 100% already forgot about it! Should be telling.

I actually had fun with Hellraiser 3 (feels like another bad Nightmare in Elm Street installment), and I thought Bloodline was legit. It was like if Jason X was more tolerable and still had some good monster designs and effects I think. It was becoming humorous how Pinhead was becoming more and more like Freddy and a joke killer. I guess some people like 1 the best, but I thought 2 was the coolest by far with that weird otherworld labyrinth stuff and some really cool monsters.

For something super legit have you guys seen Jacob's Ladder? Wish I could find more like that. It's about as Silent Hill as it gets.

I love how ring two ends with blonde lady crawling into the tv, down the well, and giving sadako samara a big hug which ends the curse. Like dang. That's the power of love y'all.
