What was the last movie you've seen?

Just watched Collateral, starring Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx. I wasn't sure if I'd seen it before but after a couple of minutes I realized I had. Oh well, still enjoyable. It's not great, but not a bad take on crime films. I do really enjoy the cinematography and all the various use of color and lighting throughout it. It kinda reminds me of some things to do in GTA games actually... If you like movies with hitmen I'd say look it up.

Collateral was truly entertaining, but Mann dropped the ball with Miami Vice. As a fan of the TV show I was thoroughly disappointed He's yet to top himself after Heat though I do love his soundtrack selections however. The final scene in Heat with the moving Moby track really made a lasting impression with viewers. (Ack, you might want to listen to the rejected score for Heat's finale)

Recently watched the first Silent Mobius film. It was kinda short (54min), but it was rather gr8. Can't wait to get my hands on the second one. And FYI, both films are from '91 and '92, respectively. And the 26-episode anime series is from '98.

Does anyone know where the films stand in the Silent Mobius timeline? Do they take place before the anime? After? Alternate timeline? What?

Matrix Revolutions for the first time, it was on TV last night.

Uh, easily the worst of the 3. And the ending really sucked ass. Had some good scenes though.

Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Fury, an animated film, was only 30 or so mins long. It was alright. I really like the riddick series.

Kiss Me Deadly, well half of it. An amazing film noir that is just beautiful. The cinematography is just stunning.

The Golden Voyage of Sinbad. It was on TCM today at 6. Ray Harryhausen is a genius whose work can TOTALLY trump overbloated CGI.

It's a double feature. The first one "Dias de los Muertos" is a short fanedit of "All Souls Day", and the last one is a fanedit of the film adaptation of "House of the Dead".

The third trailer, "Seven Doors of Death", is also another fanedit of theirs. It was a restoration fanedit of Lucio Fulci's "The Beyond".

This fanedit, however, is part of their "Vintage VHS Editions" line. According to their official website:

These edits represent the films as if they were actually released on VHS back in the early 80's. The image is worn, a couple have "tracking" issues and they are over-cropped to fullscreen. The color-treatment is authentic and they all include my new retro-style "Home Video Releasing" bumpers. The purpose of these edits is to "undo" the modernization of post-millienium horror films. Things like "flash cuts", "jump scenes" and modern dialogue have been reduced to restructure the film into a retro-paced horror flick with true scares and no over-the-top teeny-bop acting.

NOTE: To get the full effect, you must transfer these to old, used VHS tapes after you download and burn them to DVD.
