Why don't they live up to the hype? Are they bad games? Are they not fun? Do you not enjoy them?Juan Aguacate wrote:Modern Zelda games never live up to the hype. I'm taking those scores with a grain of salt.Exhuminator wrote:

ON THE REAL
I'm most looking forward to reviews from our own forum members here. I know the tastes and proclivities of quite a few of our Games Beaten contributors, so seeing what they say will tell me all I need to know about BotW.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.
Re: Zelda Breath of the Wild - Wii U vs. Switch
My prediction is that it will destroy open world games and erase all my fears and worries. Then I won't feel bad for dodging the rest... until the next Zelda.

Yes it is and I'm digging it. I've gone through most the early full page panel comics and am one or two off from where it goes more comic book in style.jmbarnes101 wrote:Tanooki, is that the mini-comic book for He-Man? If so it's a great book. Dark Horse has been churning out some great He-Man HC's. The latest is a collection of the newspaper strips.
I'm surprised at those scores, but maybe they really did get it right without picking up the boring too openly annoying aspects of open world sandbox type games that have gotten more played out. Perhaps this one will topple all the Ocarina of Time brownnosers who act like it's still the most perfect game rated ever which it was just a lot of fan love that pushed it there.
I saw way earlier someone asked if another portable Zelda got so much acclaim, and while I don't know where to look for ratings being that it's from the 90s, but how about Link's Awakening? I don't recall any complaints about that one, mostly shock and awe how they got away with making a SNES LTTP style in play and look game on dinky Gameboy.
My BB I wandered into earlier, they said they're open at 12:01. So I don't have to take time out of my work morning tomorrow I'm going to be up late and go grab it tonight. Shame I won't have games until Amazon delivers them tomorrow afternoon. IT says they shipped out of Lexington at 6am Picked Up by Shipping Partner, USPS Awaiting Item (guess I was right about in state) which is like 45min drive by car from here east along the I64. IT's going like parcel post but I can't see the USPS being so god awful to make that take 2-3 days being so close.
Re: Zelda Breath of the Wild - Wii U vs. Switch
The way things work at least around here is they toss the package off to UPS and all the postal service really does is deliver it during the final step. So as long as the UPS driver for your area doesn't show up super late (nearly impossible since they now arrive at like 5:30am which is 2 1/2 hours before carriers even get there as opposed to 8ish like they used toTanooki wrote: Picked Up by Shipping Partner, USPS Awaiting Item (guess I was right about in state) which is like 45min drive by car from here east along the I64. I've had a lot of stuff get here within 1 day after leaving an amazon facility in a state over in Kentucky.
Re: Zelda Breath of the Wild - Wii U vs. Switch
Makes sense. I've wondered how that more recent thing has happened where it's like amazon (or whoever) uses like fedex or ups initially, and then they're effectively like 'meh' and pass it off to the USPS who does the actual delivery as it comes off that way.
I checked the tracking and whoever had it, the USPS side isn't even acknowledging a middle man like amazon did and it's about a mile from here at the post office so it'll get here around 11-1 today.
My Switch is charged, loaded and ready. I saw that thing about the left joycon dropping out I thought, but then to my surprise the battery was effectively dead on it while the right wasn't which was weird. But being in the dock like 10min or so, then it worked.
All I can say for that menu and even the PSN-ish like eshop -- fast, sleek, not the nails on a chalkboard setup the WiiU had.
