Huh i just thought the emptiness of the levels was just the first few. Still nice that the ai is better in it than some games where most are just on a fixed path  even better now that I know that the music was done by the drummer of "Police"(and one of those pieces somehow made it's way into the Amanda show).

On another note I think I'm on 3-2 of smb deluxe. Fun so far...especially since after watching a video that was talking about mega man vs mega man x it finally dawned on me how to better play it. Since all those games especially ones on nes slowly teach you without popups on what to do piece by piece then combine two or more parts so i may have just figured out how to do this...

Correction, I'm on 4-4. I think I must of been doing something wrong, i kept going right like I have been on previous levels. Jumping over the same screen over and over again(it kept repeating for some odd reason). Any one know if I did something wrong or if this is a bug?

Edit: Nevermind...I figured it out ha ha

Figures...I hope it's the same pattern though. On 5-2 now...this level is so annoying...I can't see and I'm really taking some leap of faiths that don't pan out because I somehow end up getting hit by the hammer bros or jump into a koopa troopa(or whatever they are called in this game). Feels like a weird pattern to run into to keep doing this :-\

Welcome to Mario Bros. Deluxe. I don't like that version for that very reason. You can scroll the screen ahead with select I think? Something like that. The other ports of the game give you a better view of what's ahead.

Alright, I can't help myself so I've given in and made a minimal list of 5.

I may add to it, I may not. I'll try to knock 'em out either way.

1. Metroid Prime - GC
2. Resident Evil 2 - PS1
3. Earthbound - SNES
4. Crash Bandicoot - PS1
5. X-men Vs. Street Fighter - Saturn

I never made it more than halfway through Prime, and that was years ago. I spent less time with the original Crash, back when it first came out.

The other three I haven't played at all, believe it or not.

Well the up and down buttons help since that do it, but not much when you can't see where the enemy is, so I jump and most likely than not jump right into them....

Select scrolls the screen forward so you can see more of whats ahead. It means mario's right at the edge of the screen though.

Test it out once you've moved off the starting line of the level - it won't work there for some reason.

Super Mario Bros 3 is up and running. I'm starting to remember why I've never beat it: I suck big time. I had also forgot how much I hate Hammer Bros. Fuck those guys.
