I haven't played it, myself. But I've seen a review of it and the gameplay looks like it's a blast to play!

YES. That game is absolutely wild. You won't regret opening it.

I still have my Dreamcast at my cousin's attic. In my retro gaming phase, so I am going to get it back very soon!
Dreamcast and Genesis all day, everyday! Hopefully getting a Saturn soon too!

Thanks for the input guys..I think I will try Bangai o very soon!
On another note, I think I value my DC collection more than my other systems and games even if the games I have on other systems are rarer or more sought after, I just love the variety

Sorry for the late +1 for Bangai-O. Definitely a good game.
Welcome to the club! It took me a long time for me to admit that I cherish my Dreamcast more than the Genesis, but there's just something about it. I'll take all the flak that comes with it, but I do believe that the Dreamcast is my favorite system.

The Dreamcast Bangai-O is still my favorite. I'm not a big fan of the puzzle-ish direction the series took on the DS and in Missile Fury though I like them too.
Beating that game was such a rush.

Bangai-O is one of my favourite games on the system. It's so damn intense and addictive. Hard as nails though. I think I'm stuck on about level 23 or something. Overall, despite the difficulty, it is a fantastic game. I can't believe I didn't buy the game until long after the console was dead.

Hi guys!
I just found my old Sega Dreamcast, which was in surprisingly good shape.
I have a few questions and need some suggestions, since I am getting back into it.
1.) What is the best video cable/cord for the Dreamcast?
Currently, I only have the stock AV cords that came with it. I am looking for the best cable I can buy. I really do not feel like modding the console or buying a converter (unless a converter is really cheap). I just want to buy one cable that will give me the best native output a Dreamcast can output. The cables I have now work fine, but the low resolution and blurry picture is something I am not used to anymore. I can deal with it on a Genesis, but not so much on a Dreamcast as it utilizes text and menus a lot more.
2.) Does this console require modding to play back ups?
I had this console since I was no more than 10 years old. I only bought two games. My cousin used to back up a bunch of games for me. I am not sure if he did any mods to my console or not.
This Spider-Man game I was just trying out looked like a clear bootleg. It said something like "blah blah blah, presents Spider-Man" on the startup. I did not seem like a backup of the original. So I am not sure if my cousin backed up bootleg games that the Dreamcast could boot or if the Dreamcast does not require any modding to play any backed up game?
3.) Should I invest in getting broadband connection on a Dreamcast? I know some people still do online stuff on a Dreamcast. Mine still has the built-in phoneline internet, which I never used. And I doubt people still use that kind of connection.
4.) Can you repair the controllers? Both of my controllers' joysticks don't feel smooth. And one of the controllers' cord has to be in a certain position for it to work.
5.) Where can I get some video game suggestions? I know nothing of the Dreamcast library. All I pretty much did was play Mortal Kombat Gold and those 2k sports games. I am looking into trying out the Dreamcast classics that I never played.
Pulling this thing out brought back some memories. I was very impressed by it. It did not look like a system that was over 10 years old. It was so small. And it is super quiet. Very impressive. I did not appreciate it as a kid. I bought it because I could not afford other systems (Sega Genesis was the console I had before, but it broke. Then I was playing emulators along with some PC games on my dad's crappy computer). I got it for 50 bucks brand new at a Toys R Us when no one was buying Dreamcast and when Dreamcast made their future plans public. Looking back on it, this thing was a life saver. Playing all those 2k2 sports games (NBA, NFL, and MLB) got me through some tough times.
It being in my old attic for over 10 years and enduring those hot summers in the south, I thought this thing was surely going to be fried. But it works just fine. It read my CDs (the originals and the back ups). I thought the Audio was messed up, but I just had to push it in the port more and wipe the CDs clean. Everything seems to working. I'm excited!

you may be the first person ever to call the DC quiet.

I keep meaning to unpack my Dreamcast from my gaming closet so I can get around to playing
GunLord. Maybe I'll drag it out this weekend, haven't gone Dreamin' in quite a while.
